Default Gloster Javelin

We don't seem to see much on the Classic Raf jets so here's a couple of clips of my first flight with the Javelin last weekend at Raf Scampton JMA meet,
Gary.

If you go to www.uavde.com you can see the Javelin that Sam Snyder is building for twin p70's.

Sam would probably love to talk to you about your setup.

Thats a lovely model Gary. The finish looks much better than on my one, which is only finished in semi scale colours.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Good looking model and I love the "sit" in the air.

Is it a scratch build? By the way it leapt into the air and climbed out it is no lead slaed.

Thanks guys, she has been built and painted very nicely, not by me I might add, I got it third or fourth hand, been sitting around for a while.

JD, built from a Mick Reeves kit, as you say she does sit nicely, tends to nose drop in turns and is quite sluggish on the controls, feels like the real thing I imagine! Also needs a fair bit of power to keep her moving, very draggy airframe and can be prone to stalling which apparently is normally terminal (deep stall)

I wasn't quite sure of the trim situation and as it had not been flown by me before I forced the rotation a bit to gain trimming height, not very scale like I know, my apologies.

She actually tried to roll out to port on t/off flap so that was a good move!

Gary.

It probably just needs a much greater pull back on the stick than you are used to Gary. Unless it is actually yawing nose down which is possible but less likely, it is just dropping the nose in the turn in the usual manner, but the difference in elevator responsiveness compared to a conventional wing may be catching you unawares. The shallower lift slope means the wing has to be raised more to generate the same increase in lift, and that means pulling back more than you expect.
Really hope to see it at the next CJ, lovely model.
H.
