RE: New high scale Eurofighter
Hi Ralle,
I have a Eurosport, latest generation, and it will be sport scale with some details added. I was wondering if your project will correct many of the incorrect details of the original?
I really like the detail treatment your doing, great job, I'm looking forward to the completed model. Do you have an estimate when it will be completed?
I cant wait to see more photos!
Chris

RE: New high scale Eurofighter
Hi Chris,
I´m doing this job together with my friend Burhard Dotzauer, the "father" of the Eurosport. We have used the very old original mold, made 15 years ago. Burkard has modified that mold (all incorrect details and shapes). We used very good 3 view drawings, I drawed all views in Corel draw with all details, screws, fasteners, raised panels, hatches. I´m using that files to make the templates, paint masks etc., getting all the measurements.
The new EF must be finished beginning 2011.
the bottom side is nearly finished. have to apply some hatches, engrave the panel lines. will start detailing top side in two weeks...
the original mold was painted in a very uggly green, you are able to see that green and also the old panel lines of the Eurosport:

sanded the surface today, first with 800 grit very lightly, following with 2000 grit. removed the vinyls, used black control powder.

Hi Harry,
no and yes. yes you are "right". the most the panels are flush. its very difficult to make that curved panel lines (matching with the screws) so I decided to paint these on. that small hatches are raised a little on the real one. note much maybe 1-2 mm. Please not the hinge band with the 3 screws is 10 mm wide!
