Default RE: Transmitter tray

I have been using a tray from rcamodels.com for half of this season. I was sold after the second flight and will never go back to just a neck strap. They make 3 versions with different side configurations for finger flyers and thumb flyers. They have a neck strap and shoulder harness. I have gone to the shoulder harness, sometimes looks a little funky but it works great and no neck strain. Multiple colors also. Randy provides great customer service also and their prices are very reasonable. I use a Futaba 12z and it fits fine with room to spare, should be no problem for the 14z. All transmitter functions easily accessed including side sliders. You might have to trim a bit of acrylic to use the side sliders but the material is easy to work with.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there was quite a bit of flex in the Esprit tray. I made some CF strips from 2.5mm flex plate material and pressure glued them to the base and the palm "wings". That sure did the trick! I used the tray all week at Super Jets South and am very happy with this tray now. My suggestion to the folks that make this tray would be to use a material that does not flex as easily as your current material does.

Thanks to Alan, Gonzalo, and Rcpete for recommending the Esprit and thanks to all who posted info on the many other trays that are available.

Default RE: Transmitter tray

Just came across this thread on a search for a tray. I fly with my thumbs but I'm finding the neck strap blocking my view of the timer on my 12FG (I used to have a clip on timer up on the handle).

Has anyone seen or tried this one? If so, will the short fit the 12FG? Looks to be about 185mm in length.

Sean,

I have one of these and use it with my 14Mz and really like it. I will try to figure out which version I have.

Thanks John, I'm wondering if a few mm's make a difference as the smaller tray may be easier to use.

I will take a photo of mine in the morning and post it along with the size. It is very light which is the part I like the most.

Sorry for the delay... My real work got in the way today.

Here is my 14MZ with the Secraft tray.

I have both trays that ESPRIT model sales and prefer the Secraft due to the weight different between the two.
