This weekend I put another 5 flights on the awesome Ultra Flash... Nothing but flawless flights... Such an enjoyable jet... I would have flown more if I had more Kerosene :(....

I wish I could say the same thing from day one with about 30 flights so far I have nothing but brake problems, one side locks up and it starts turning to its side, and next thing you know it's going side ways, and it's damaging the plane, and destroying my tires. I changed out the air lines to a better heavy duty lines, I have relocated the brake lines running down to the wheel. I have lubed the brakes, but you can still feel one wheel is grabbing more then the other one. I am using stock gears I think its the behotec C-36. Love flying the jet but not very enjoyable to land you never know what to expect. Has anyone else experiance the same problem? Any other ideas how to fix this issue? Thank you

So the brake lines from the T point are exactly the same length. If you hold full brake one feels tighter than the other? Try swapping the wheel units.
I have flown lots of UF with the Intairco stock wheels and they stop pretty straight. |

It must be mechanical, partial blockage in brake unit. Tight pistons in unit, O ring band different thickness rubber...

Had this ex Phil Noel UF in during the week for a check over and radio set up. Test flew it today for club member Musafa. P-100Rx powered, JR DSX-12 radio. My stock set up other than 3mm CROW as Musafa likes some on his models.

The struts are "behotec" with C40 retracts. They require a little work to install, but well worth it. Very robust...

Going to be putting together an UF in the next couple of days with a K-140, this will be the first Comp-Arf I have ever put together. How is this build compared to a BVM Bobcat, Or Bandit?? I've built Bobcats, Bandits and Electras and they are a lot of work..Just wondering what I am in for..

Well that's some good news!! So more work is involved in a Bvm build.

Worst part is cutting the hole for the rudder servo. I don't know why they don't put a hatch there..
there are a lot of ways to set up the components in the flash beside what is shown in the manual. I'd look at the threads and pics and see the different installs. Also there are a lot of tips and tricks. I like splitting the servo cover in the wing for easier setup and the earth magnet on the front gear door. If you take the wing off for transport I'd consider the saddle tanks and forget the wing tank so you won't be worrying about hooking up fuel lines and leaks all of the time |
I am using the saddle tanks. Just don't see how they are held in there.

here is my trick for cutting the rudder hole.
take a servo arm and shorten it to about 3/4 inch, and sharpen the edges with a file. set it up on the servo with a servo driver so that its pointed longways with the servo casing and deflected longways.. then install it and power up the servo.. Then slowly move the driver in the direction you want to cut the hole.. the servo arm will slice right through the fiberglass giving you the right depth.. Then mark the hole around it, cut it out and clean it up.. done.. takes a half hour or so.. Then make sure to put the heat shield under the servo, and wrap the wires with something to protect.. that section is the hottest part of the fuselage.. dave |

Is the nose gear servo mounted upside down with wire going through holes?? Or is it right side up?? I'm seeing both in pictures. I'm sure the answer is in here I just can't bring myself to go through 200 pages.
