RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Any bearer width dimension?
Rob. |
RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Not with model, but guess 25mm...bit wider than a Behotec C-36, Takes and Jet 1A or Eurokit unit without widening...

Well, the boss had an Ultra Flash sent to me until he can pick it up so I decided to do up a transport cradle for her so she has a nice secure ride home! Here is the first run at it, got a few more tweaks to make but I thought I would see what you guys thought.

Here are the Quick Change Plates installed so the assembled model can be supported for maintenance/display, the sides have also been clearanced for gear retraction! One more plate to design, redo the bolt plate so the engine has clearance, and then one final brace to stiffen the front sides up!

ORIGINAL: Robrow What does this scheme look like underneath..any pics? Also what is the visibility like in the air? I'll try and get some pictures when it gets airborne and post them. Hi Dave,
I love that scheme! What is it called, for future reference? If I should ever order another I would probably go for that one....love it! Regards, Craig. |

We supplied the UF to Iceland. It was one of our team demo planes and will be replaced by another in a similar scheme, but with a more vivid colour than the orange I think. We have just had another arrive for a customer in the same scheme. Here is a photo of the box with the description and the part number if you need it Craig.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Hi Ali,
Thanks for the info. I would have thought that the orange would be quite easy to see? Regards, Craig. |
RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Viz was great, no issues at all with the orange in the air, it's purely a personal thing where I would like to see the scheme with a different colour. Who knows, it may look worse, but its worth a try. ;)

I think the "Iceland" scheme is one of the best color schemes I have seen yet....if I ever have to replace my T-Birds Flash ( knock on wood...) I would get that scheme for sure!

That's the best Ultra Flash scheme I have seen yet. [8D] I'm not a big fan of the current schemes esp the green one. [:'(] (Sorry Dean)
I ordered a custom scheme Ultra Lightning in Bright Red, Silver and Black - sure hope it shows up looking as good as that. :D PaulD |

Ok, Here is the finalized version with the added brace and bolt plate clearanced for the engine. There are three plates that allow the aircraft to be positioned right side up or inverted when it is not in transport mode.

Transport mode. The fuse locks into the lugs at the wing dowel location and then rests against the wing saddle and is secured using the wing bolts. The fuse is further supported at the front and rear at former locations.

Now when you arrive at the field the wing bolts are removed along with the canopy and fuselage. The interlocking plates just slide into place to allow the fuse to be cradled inverted for easy wing installation. The front plate is universal so it works with the fuselage upright or inverted.

Swap out the rear plate and the plane can be supported right side up for maintenance/gear retractions.
