What do you guys know about the new venue for FJ 2011? Paradise Field Lakeland...

Yes it's a grass strip. I was there for Monster Planes 2010 in October. The airport gave Tiano a piece of property to develop and use for his events.

I heard it's pretty nice. I can't wait for 2011.

A big minus is no RV hook ups anymore...but at the same time I heard that you now will be able to back your trailer up to your tent. I guess you win some and lose some...

Grass is OK too. I flew my Tucano and Lightning off of grass this year at the Joe Nall for 9 days with out any issues and I hear Frank chatted with them about grass prep ETC...

It should be fine I guess...

Cool, grass is good-we fly off grass all the time with 90% of my Jet fleet. Looks like a great site.

We flew over it a few weeks ago. Here are some pics a snagged with my cell phone. Its a little rough but the sod should settle in before Florida jets.

No Payment? Frank is giving pilots a break by waiving registration fees....... as a result of the economy?:D

I flew there at the moster event. Very nice. slightly bumpy still, but its still very new. Should be even better by FJ! some airplanes looked super smooth. Trailing links did great!

I flew my Airworld L 39 at the Monster Planes all weekend with no problem. The grass was fearly new at the time, but by Florida Jets and Top Gun is going to be fantastic. Frank has done a great job as usual.

Fee is $50.00 if you pre-register, or $70.00 at the field.
$10.00 per day for spectators......

For me and all the other trailer trash that will camping during the event, one big question is water. Will we have water available on site to fill our rigs holding tanks? I don't feel like hauling water in jugs. I'll be on site sometime Wednesday afternoon. Help would be appreciated.
Google Earth has a nice view right off the end of runway 5. Googles Lat/Lon are 27º58'48.96"N 082º01'17.46"W

As of Friday, NO water on site. . .I too may have issues as there will be three of us sharing 80 gallons of water. . .S S & shave only ! Bottled water for everything else.

Thanks for the update. Now the question is where can we get water? I think since we are paying for camping, the camp ground should let us fill our tanks. I will see if I can get a hold of them today and let everyone know what I find out.

I Have a portable 45 gallon bladder anyone is welcome to use that I will bring. It just connects with a garden hose and I am sure Jim Mahoney will be more than happy to let us fill up at the campground. Just need a van or pickup to set it in.
I have a 12V pump from Harbor Freight to pump it into your RV. I am not sure if the pump is still good or not. i recall having problems before with it and I am not sure where it is. If you have a pump that would be great or a way to connect a garden hose fitting to your RV water pump you will be all set.
Gravity feed will work but may take forever.

You will be the hero! We can use my truck to haul water if anybody needs it. Boli said he has some kind of RV water pump that we can use to fill up our tanks.

Lukey made me the ULTIMATE RV water transfer pumping system. It seems that it's unveiling will be at FJ on Wednesday.

Yes, I meant pavement, not payment. Just noticed it now, 3 months later, lol. I think most people know that a break from paying the almighty "green" will most likely never happen at Florida Jets!!
