Alternative uses for turbine engines
So what else have you used your prized turbine engine for? other than in a plane for thrust.
I've got two so far. 1. Drying large areas - We have a large concrete area with a lacquer protecting a colouring, this doesnt absorbe water so it beads and hangs around for upto a week. So after cleaning the patio with a high pressure water cleaner, fired up my 8kg turbine (in plane), full throttle and used it like a 400 degree blower vac. Worked wonders. 2. Pissing off the neighbours - This happened to a friend doing engine tests and the police came and knocked on his door upon a neighbours noise complaint (all in one day only). Police told him off and to keep the noise to a minimum then asked if they could come in to see the jets because theyre so cool. Imagin if they asked to fire them up again, HA. Anyone else got some nifty uses for our expensive tin cans? |

Turbines are great for setting off the neighborhood dogs. In fact it has led to a new classification system for turbines. For example, my Jet Central Bee II Kerostart is a class 2B turbine....it sets off every dog in a two block radius.

This is a clever idea, I can use this to dry our runway fast when wet because last time I flameout because of water.
