JMA LONG MARSTON 2013 - MARCH 30/31
 

Now that all the christmas and new year cr@p is over with, the run up to the 2013 flying season begins. Last year saw the JMA return to Long Marston in July and October and following on from the success of these events the JMA has organised three more meets for this year in March, July and September. The first event will be held over the weekend of March 30/31 and it will be the same format as 2012 events as will the others. Due to the increased running costs of these three events as well as other events planned and projected, we are hoping to have the AGM at the March weekend as the cost of holding the AGM at a hired venue is a costly exercise for a non flying event, but this is yet to be confirmed. The JMA committee will keep the membership informed of the details of the AGM format.

These events are open to JMA members and camping is available on site from friday or if you do not fancy a tent or caravan, there is plenty of accomodation within a few miles of Long Marston. Toilet facilities will be available and hopefully 'Dick's Deli' will be making a very welcome return (TBC).

The New Inn a couple of miles from LM has proved popular with those attending the meets, hopefully the evening entertainment will be courtesy of John Palmer and his bag of tricks and without doubt! . . . John Tancock (we would like to apologise for him in advance!) and his amazing bar distributed fluid vanishing act!

More events at other locations are being planned and details will become available when they are confirmed. I have attached a few pictures from the last event in October last year.

You've been talking to White again Jamie! However, following intense negotiations, and at great risk of having to have part of the Animal's new found love spud friend 'The Messiah' transplanted to me (due to further anticipated battle damage loss), it looks like the Chuck Wagon will be there :D

Really looking fwd to the LM meets this year...no matter what, they're always top events!

Not long to go now!

The first Long Marston event of 2013 gets underway a week this Saturday! This is the AGM weekend, the AGM taking place on the Saturday lunchtime. AGM calling notices have been sent out and should have been received by now.

Just a word of caution, Tancock has confirmed his attendance and for reasons of safety it will be necessary to stand on the runway during Johns flight as this is most likely to be the safest place to be :D

First Long Marston event this weekend, the AGM will take place at 1300 on the Saturday in the Bar room on site.

The membership fee for the next year will be set at the AGM on Saturday, and anybody wishing to join can do so after that. Forms will be given out at the AGM and, if you miss that, will also be available from me at the chuck wagon, Jamie and Rog Kilbey throughout the weekend...so don't forget your cash or cheque book AND your current BMFA/SAA/LMA membership card/number.

On the weather front, no need for the prayer mats Jamie...Jason's got it covered! It's going to be good...Long Marston's always good!

I have just finished putting the Hunter back together, i have just flashed it up in the workshop to check it all still works . . . . . . . Warmest i have been all day!!

Good first day, cold...plenty of flying and the main job of the day, the AGM was dispatched in quick time with a few changed proposed and voted on. Had the pleasure of test flying Ian's Pinky UF and re test flying Steve's Camo UF, both only needing a few tweeks before the owners were having a go.
By the time I left everything was still airworthy [8D] looking forward to tomorrow even more!
