Thanks

I have a vacuum former in my office (I'm a dentist) we use it every day, but its only 6"x6" I have looked at a few "hobby" vacuum formers and they were pretty cheesy. Heat the material up in the oven, then transfer it to the bed.. Are there any out there that will do a 2' part that aren't over $1k?

I have a skin packing machine in my shop. The table is 18"x24" as I recall. It's just a big vacuum forming machine. I've used it a bunch of times for hobby parts.

If you can't find anyone local... shoot me a PM.

Hi

You really need to find the proper petg.

I made several parts for my Hawk (light covers for wings, fuse, etc)without vacuum. Just heat the sheet and then with a home made bed (just a square with material attached), pressed it up against the mould.

Again, is it are small parts, you just need the right material, not a vaccum machine

Regards

Nuno

Scott, Tad K had a machine at Golden West that I believe will accept a plug that large. He might have the machine at his new place. Can't find his number unfortunately.

Nick Ziroli Jr might do it for you as we'll, it's also his business. Those are big pieces of plastic and depending on what material you are pulling it needs to be dried in an oven to get the moisture out otherwise it will bubble. I have a very large machine in my lab that can pull five foot pieces two feet wide but the cost of the plastic will shock you.

Sorry Scott I cut the material to 24" just a little short ,if this is a canopy can we do it in two parts split at the canopy rail

Check with people that do mounted fish. They paint ABS fish halves for mounting on the wall. I have a machine here that is about 15"x60" that used to belong to a fish guy. It is not currently operable, but it will not take too much to get it going again.
