F-35?

Anybody thinking of producing a mid to large sized F-35? A reputable manufacturer is a must, if you know what I'm meaning. It seems to fly as well as an F-16 and it'll be distributed to many countries in full scale so there should be lots of demo color schemes. Any rumors of a model being developed.

Just dreaming...

gunradd 06-06-2014 03:52 PM

I wish....

I would never get a fly eagle anything and the jet legend one is sport scale at best :( It would take lots of mods to make it right. I would love to have an F35C model :) I think the navy version with the bigger wings and beefy gear looks better. It would look great with a working canopy. I wish skymaster would make one.

I agree with everything you said

invertmast 06-06-2014 06:37 PM

Someone send me some plugs and we can talk :)

patrnflyr 06-06-2014 06:46 PM

On the full scale side, if all parties could get their act together and nail down the final product, there'll be 2,000+ of them buzzing around the skies of the US and many other countries. Judging by the amount of F-16 kits available now, we'll have 10 different kits in about 15 years!

It will be the next big model I think considering it is replacing all F18s in service I believe.

I"d want an RC Marine version (vetical takeoff/landing). Say 1.375 scale. . . . . . :p

Hi all
I actually owned and flew the JL F35 back in 2012 and can vouch for the quality of the airframe and robustness of its U/C.
The only hiccup I found with the designe was its large single nose gear door that caused a "rolling" trim change when extended.
The fix was easy, I split the gear door in two and hinged from both sides equalising the aerodynamic force.
Its a fairly large bulky airframe but with a Wren 160 it had more than enough power and im sure it would easily fly on an 140.
Take off and landings were very straight forward and once touched down stayed down, its ground handling is as good as it gets.
Unfortunately because of a software cockup by Spektrum, a well publicised fault with the DX8 Tx caused it to lockout when on DMSX .
This resulted in a 30 second "free flight" very soon after it took off and an unscheduled arrival, this luckily only damaged the nose and belly.
Fortunately all the flying surfaces, U/C "which had been retracted" turbine "that had shut down" and R/C gear survived unscathed.
I have now ordered the damaged parts from JL and if there still readily available will get it airborne again later this season.

The video showing the rotating nozzle is great!

I'm ready for the Navy planes to get out into the fleet so some real color schemes can develop. Maybe let a CAG get one and the wing's tail artists can go crazy. It'll be hard since this is supposed to be a stealth aircraft. I wonder how much of its stealth relies on a paint vs the shape of the aircraft?

Dave Wilshere 11-22-2014 06:41 AM

Would an F-35A, at 1/8 scale be OK?
No more info, but 2015 could be your year ;-)

(I won't be pushed on more info, people need time to develop a product without the pressure from outside)

Since the Navy announced last month that the first batch were going to the F-18C squadrons in Lemoore, Ca that should narrow down some real color schemes. I know VFA-113 Stingers and VFA-25 Fist of the Fleet are getting them.

On another note...I'm still not sure why people don't go through their models when they arrive instead of just loading them up and going............Then making a big stink and leaving that part out.

please enjoy;) i hope you guys like the model.

kind regards,

Joel

How about a non VTOL version such as the A or C model that will not require 10 years worth of research and a flight test pilot certification to operate? :-)

Seriously Anton, I would ditch the AV-8B and/or a STOVL F-35B. They are way too complicated to transition in and out of, perhaps only a handful of pilots may even understand the flight physics behind it. Sure it will be cool to see Ali or the likes flying one at Kentucky Jets.....but I just don't see a lot of demand for. Hope I'm wrong.

That being said, FEJ makes a great flying F-35A. Problem is, its brand name and what comes with it. But folks would be amazed how smooth it flies, and how easy it is to land. We just need a reliable model maker such as SM to make one, and put some reliability and product support behind it.

Hi I'm about to maiden my fej f-35 after some changes ,split front gear door ,reposition of the fuel tanks and work on the nose retract setup.

patrnflyr 05-31-2017 03:29 PM

C model has a 20% larger wing making it a better flier

....and marginally better looking.

;)

FalconWings 05-31-2017 04:55 PM

it also has separate flaps/ailerons and a killer double nose gear!

David Jackson 05-31-2017 06:54 PM

I would be interested in F-35 (non VTOL) with fuse length of at least 110" .
