http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2010321I have just finished and test flown my new F16 mk2 but Mark 2 the second one I have owned.
All has come good , I sold my first one of these and ordered another kit from Zed jets uk . The service was great from the English Uk distributor .
I do not usually revisit models but I loved the way the first one flew , the second one is just as good.
The kit arrived in perfect condition and took hours ,not days to build. The install is made easy as the factory does all the work of horn install servo trays done and a good supply of good strong fittings that work. All the gear and doors are pre- installed and again work perfect. This time I took the option of nav lights again excellent work from JL.
The fuel system is two fitted plastic tanks of 1.8 l each I piped these in my own Tygon and to a CAT.
The engine of choice was a Jetcat P180rx ok more than needed but gives great fuel economy , flights so far are of 7to 8mins. I used a Powerbox-system Gemini 2 power supply into a Futaba 14 channel rx. With a Bavarian Cortex demon gyro on rudder and ailerons.
Here are few pics.

Gorgeous plane...

Beautiful Mark!

(said it a long time ago, as close to BVM quality as it gets........time proved me right!)

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2010344Thanks Marc S , Falcon wings , yes the quality is stunning. I usually paint my models inside to cover up the unsavoury glue seams but on this I have left it natural to show the quality , it also saves weight,
the small MKS servo activates the gear , brakes and gear doors using off set timings in the mix on transmitter.
Flying this F16 is an absolute pleasure it has such a wide envelope of speed and handling and then the landings even on a cross wind are very stable. I have used a single BVM air filler and a robart air pressure gauge , thus far I have had air in this plane gear up or down for 7 days with no leakage. I also noticed the new store are very light weight inc pylons , when I put the attachment points in wing , every one hit a hard wood insert as they are supposed to.

Mark what's the price tag the way you ordered. The plane?

Rider-60 07-01-2014 09:42 AM

Very nice Mark,

is it an external paint job?

Florent

Mark H 07-01-2014 12:42 PM

Hi Florent yes it is painted out of mould and it is a very lightly applied,
hum prices, these can be attained from Jeff at www.Zedjet.com the uk agent for Jetlegend , as there are so many extras that can be ordered , cockpit lights smoke pump geardoors done so many ways to order.

astro281 07-01-2014 03:01 PM

Thanks for show many detailed photos. How are the landing gears? Do they function correctly? Thanks.

Mark H 07-01-2014 03:10 PM

Yes the gear has been faultless and has worked from the outset fine, my gear door clipard valve slipped and I lost air but now it is glued secure I have had no more problems the gear holds air and stays up or down with no losses at all. When the plane lands it also tracks well with good ground handling. The brakes are a little to sharp though , silicon spray needed here :-)

Hi Mark
I see the the bolt holes have disappeared from the top surfaces!
Are these underneath again as the G1?

Mark H 07-07-2014 12:39 AM

Hi John ,
yes the retaining bolts are now in the undersurface of the plane , this means turning over to assemble but it is light so that's not a problem.
JL have also grooved the retaining bolts and added a cir clip so the bolts can not work loose during transport , all these little things make it such a great package. I am looking forward to more product from JL. Is yours flying yet. ?
Regards Mark.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2012987This kit is manufactured by Jetlegend, many different companies market their product around the world , yes I think BVM aircraft looks the same very high standard as this kit. This is now my second Mk2 with rivets and both have flown fantastic . Attached is my first Mk2 in the blue aggressor scheme , this is now with a new owner.

Probably like FB, built in the same factory as the JL F16...makes it more or less the same.

Mark H 07-10-2014 03:27 AM

Mine did not come with servos installed , I think the BVM version does. :-)

Right I knew FB and JL were essentially the same, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same kit as the BVM/Premier. Premier might just take them and install all the electronics, fuel system, and air system. Ive been eyeing the BVM but if this is the same kit I may look into this. I would prefer to install my own electronics anyway.

John Tancock 07-11-2014 12:28 AM

Sorry Mark, I was not egnoring you, Crappy time at work you know how it is!
To be honest with you I have only just acquired the last of parts required to complete this work of art!
The standard of this kit/ARF has really set a new benchmark for others to follow, and I don't mean the external finish either!
Mark, I am installing a Merlin 140 which is putting approx 34lbs of thrust, it would nice to compare the two on performance and economy don't you think?
Did you get the new light weight ordinance?

Regards

John

jeff sewell 07-11-2014 12:42 AM

Hi John,

I fitted the M140 in mine; excellent performance on this turbine. My friend said it was as good as his P160RX...

Have fun...

Jeff

John Tancock 07-11-2014 12:54 AM

Hi Jeff
I need some SW's for the tips, have you got any in stock?

Regards

John

jeff sewell 07-11-2014 01:16 AM

Hi John,

I thought I had but they sent me the ones from the next pylon along (AMRAAM?) inadvertently.

I can add to the next order...

Cheers

Hi John , yes I have the new set from Jeff, said it was for you or some thing beautiful sidewinders, no not really :-)))))))
yes I have got new stores on , yes , I know how you feel about quality it is some thing else. As for power you flew my last one with the P180 rx and although it sound more power ,I,m not using it all only on climb outs and HA, the fuel consumption is great in five mins I use just one tank so 8 mins is possible I think . I have moved batteries forward so bring c of g forward it is so much better.
