Mibo A-10 Gen 6

Dear all.
Here is a thread about the new Mibo Gen 6 A-10.
Compared to Gen 5.5, the new version has mostly been updated on the undercarriage.
The following have been upgraded:
. Stronger composite strut covers on the mains
. High torque retract motors
. Servo operated disc brakes with mini brake pads
. New ordnance available: triple ejctor rack for Mk 84 bombs, 1000 lbs Mk 84 bombs.

Descelerons are still in the making.

Here are a few pictures of the plane, with a unique paint scheme, freshly out of our factory in Dubai ( Extra Work Package 3 with MKS servos ). We provide painting services from our aero certified painting facilities.
All our planes are painted with Dupont Imron Aero AF 3500 system.

Guys,
I have a Gen 6th on order. Trying to decide between the 3.7L fuel tanks from Mibo/Ultimate Jets , or the Jet Tech set. This will be for Jet Central Cheetah (160N) turbines.

Mibo / Ultimate Jets set
Jet Tech set

I have a friend with Gen 4th kit being assembled with the Jet Tech. I noticed it fully utilizes the space below the hatch. There seems to be hardly any space left to pass the cabling/lines from the fuselage to the wings, or from the front fuselage to the nacelles.
Any feedback on using the Jet Tech set?
Thanks

Here's a video of mine pairing with a friends Sm A10 at a model show earlier this year.

Any close up pics of the gear improvements?

AKB 09-18-2018 02:17 PM

Hi Oli
Is there any chance to change out the brakes that we have converted to air on the 5.5 to the new disk system?
And I take it they work better than the electric?

Thanks
Alan

Yes, the new brakes work much better.
They require a wheel hub change though. The upgrade kit comes with a new wheel hub.

I can get a few pics. Mostly motors and brakes.

Oli, any more pics?

(I think I'm getting the mibo itch......)

olnico 09-24-2018 09:12 AM

Sure.

Another video of my G6

ravill 10-02-2018 06:24 AM

Great video!

Wow, 47 mph right after touch down! I could swear they look WAY slower than 47 mph when I've seen them land, maybe because it is such a big jet. Nice flying!

You know, there's not much info out there on these jets. E.G., how many servos? 7, 8, 9, 10? Depending on opening canopy? What CG's and throws people are using, etc....Hmm, I wonder if there is even an instruction manual?

Obviously, they fly well so its just about asking, so....

Here I am! Asking!

Servo count:

CG:

Throws:

I've got a shipping time frame of late december! I've got some time to get some of my goodies ready!

I'll post my build and flight reports here.

AKB 10-02-2018 08:18 AM

HI Rav
Oli will send you a digital version of the manual shortly like I got one for the 5.5.
For servos I have 6 on the wings, 4 on the tail, 1 for the canopy and 1 for nose gear. I would think the new disk brakes work off the gear control, but I don't know.
Throws and CG check the manual. I know Roger Shipley used to say pick up the nose and if the nose comes down to the ground nice and gently that's what you want. I did mine on the Xicoy system and I would suggest that. Good and accurate and this plane just weights too dam much for anything else but that system. Look forward to your build.

Good luck
Alan

mick15 10-02-2018 08:45 AM

There are 16 servos including the two in the brakes. Mine will have two extra for the decelerons. CG is on the front of the wing tube.
Throws rudders 1 inch in 11/2 out elevator 11/2 up and down Ailerons 1 inch down 2 inchs up. These throws are for gyro use Cortex
Pro.

Hello every one
I'm building my gen6 mibo for about a year now, and I know, small steps, but I enjoy the building procces so its fime for me.
I would love to see some fotos from inside the airplane and how you set up your electronics and all the fuel lines switches etc.
Thank you all.

ravill 10-10-2018 05:30 PM

As it turns out, I did not order from Oli, but I've ordered stuff through him before. We'll see.

Thank you all for your info. I'll post more and more pics as I get more news.

For engines, I'm thinking 160N, either Jetcat or Kingtech.

Borabora, lets see some pics!

I've just been informed that my Gen 6 A-10 is ready for shipping. Not quite a december shipping, but better late than never!

I'll post some pics and document a build thread here.

Same experience. Mine got shipped, but is still waiting USA customs clearance. Hopefully will get it in the next few days.

You guys won't be disappointed. I'm in the 11th year flying mine (Gen 3) and it's still going strong!

Nice Edgar! I anticipate it will take me about a year to finish.

Great pic Craig! I am thinking about using P130’s for thrust. What say you good sir?

Perfect choice on the engines Rav. I'm running P-140's now on mine and actually have them dialed down to about 25 1/2 lbs thrust (116,500 max rpm). Plenty of thrust for scale flying and easier to handle if you lose one in flight. It's happened to me twice (long ago) on takeoff and it was a non-event. Flew just fine on one with just a little rudder trim. You're gonna love the way this jet flies!

Edgar Perez 06-12-2019 05:07 PM

A few photos on mine. Looks great.
