Starting assembling new diamond jet,do you want to watch?

Ok so this is new diamond jet in Orange 🍊 color just starting assembling her today maybe someone will be interested or want to post comment please do,this is my second one so maybe will take less time,at first what I don’t like about it is that the servo covers are not paired up with the same color as the model and they’re just white,,pain to find the right color,,that one I just found looks fine on the cover but when I sprayed it looks much darker, Ok surfaces first make sure that the arms ere senses and have extra holes before glue them in the slots and use a lots of glue the surfaces are empty under the skin.https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...cbec6fddb.jpeghttps://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...3dae08a4a.jpeg

Yes! The more builds the better!

Lets see it.

sysiek 01-20-2019 08:00 PM

Wish I could just jump on it with the ASSEMBLY ,,I just don’t like the big words like BUILD this is arf not a scratch build jet,, but Amazon send me a wrong servos instead of savox 1230 they send me the 1258tg and only like 12kg ,so at least I could do the other stuff like fuel and pneumatic lines.and waits till the right stuff show up. For this jet an for the first time I ordered the servo extension set from aviation design only $100 and it should save a lots of work .https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...e2ba81a3e.jpeghttps://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...166fb6a38.jpeg

Short ago I tried a color match system with very good results. I took a airplane part to the paint shop to find the exact color code comparing it to the catalog.. then they prepared a spray can with it and the match was pretty much perfect. I also bought a spray can of clear cote compatible with the paint. All this for cheap, and with no need for a air pistol, compressor or anything like that.

By the way, the build is looking good..

Please keep the photos coming. I always like to see how everything is done.
Thanks,
Gary

Was this like an auto body shop or like Napa auto parts? Oh and what is the shelf life of the paint?

Yes you should try to find auto body shop supply store, yes I did go to place like this to match some paint colors before and the work almost perfect just this the the system to make the spray can was not working and the guys told me than they have no plans to fix it at least right now there not to much sales for this specific product,

Do you guys know where to buy regular aluminum servo arms like this one for Futaba with no threaded holes 🕳 I’m not able to find it they all over Ebay Amazon but they all have threaded holes for 2-3mm screws.https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...cf8a95634.jpeghttps://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...2d1989362.jpeg

This was at a auto parts shop in Curitiba, Brazil. Some car paint shops here also have this system too. No idea what the shelf life is.. guess that it should be the same of a regular spray can.

Little more today,so all the servo trays pockets needs to be reworked to fit the trays,,apparently it’s too hard for aviation design to program the cnc to do the extra slots and none of the major parts have openings to run servo cables,,this is not complain but come on guys,I’m talking to aviation design,, there like 10 openings I must do before cables could be installed ,the first models have all the necessary holes made and for some reason the new ones don’t the quality going away they should improve the models not cut the corners to make it easier they cost money,so all the pictures now.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...8fdd4b226.jpeghttps://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...e5680639a.jpeg
