Aviation Design F16 Conformal Fuel Tanks

Just to be a bit different and to more true to scale for the Greek AF "Zeus" displaying aircraft and colour scheme I'm going to do, I'm making up a set of Conformal Fuel Tanks to add to my AD F16.... plugs and molds made and last week I pulled out the first CFTs from the molds and couldn't resist trial fitting them..... well happy with the results. The AD F16 is 1:6.75 scale...... if any one is interested in a set let me know.https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...0ed479dcfc.jpg

Really cool work. You should consider making these for the other popular F-16 scales.
BTW, if you bond these properly, you can cut the fuselage section and easily triple the engine bay volume.....lots of room for more fuel or smoke oil right at the CG!!

David yes have thought of that but only problem is that to get a proper fit to the fuselage, I mold the bottom surface from the actual models fuselage upper surface so would need to get my hands various actual models..... but if any one wants a set doing then no probs if I can borrow their model to fo it!!

Phil,
Those CFTs look fantastic. Nice work! I might have to get a set sometime.

On that note, I have also been making molds for certain parts of this airframe. I have made the molds for all 3 gear doors, the drag chute housing and a scale intake without the nasty hump in it as well as bring lighter and painted in the mold white. If anyone is interested in any of these, let me know. Itís cool to see this nice looking plane make a comeback as it looks and flies great
Next I will be molding a centerline fuel tank... should be done in the near future.

Spen er that is a lovely course scheme and model.... can you do a closer pic of the engine hatch and opening as mine seems to be much larger than yours...... what engine do you have in it and what control throws are you using and wheres your c of g?

ha! Nice looking bird! What model is that?

Phil,
my cg is between 205 and 210mm (factory rcommmends (180-205). I started at the forward limit and th model was almost uncontrollable- very unstable in the roll axis which is rally odd ,but as I moved the cg back it became more stable all around so Iím thinking their forward limit is way too far forward. I would start at 205 and go from there. My throws are going to different because I added ailerons... Iím flying with a k-140.
lastly, my hatch is small as mine is a early version.

It "was" a Fly Eagle (original batch), and it was the best flying F-16 I've had. A friend who paints models for Lockheed did the paint job, as we were rolling out the first RMoAF Viper.

I'm curious as to how many of these planes are still out there flying... I know mines coming up on 20 years old!
