Yes, you must check that the wing tubes reach right to the end rib. If the tubes are too short, there is a serious chance of failure of the wing. I have mentioned this many times, some spars are @ 1 inch too short.

Remy, please let us know how your first flight goes. I reckon it took me about 2 days to read this thread, which included following the many excellent links. Good luck! You'll love it!

Here`s a link to a video of the 2nd flight on my EDF Falcon120 done as a flying wing. It`s powered by twin 90mm fans with a total of 6kw (8hp) of power.

Hey Knife,

That is sensational. I love the wing only mod! Looks like you just shortened the booms and flies great! Note you did not use flap on landing. Those twin EDFs look cool. What is the power set up specs?

Maiden my Falcon 120 phushed by a PST 600r. Thats my first turbine powered flight!;)

Anyone else with the same turbine? It flies great, easy to land and is looking good in air.... dont think its fast enough though,,,,,

But all in all im super satisfied...;)

Hi, Try cochestera1models.com, bought two from there, when you build it, make sure the wing spars are long enough to reach right into the end ribs of both wings ,cheers Tim

Fuel is a 2 liter Coke bottle with a PST bubble tank. JR 9XII 2.4.

Hey t777jet, i saw your falcon vid on youtube, what landing light did you use? I want to fit one to mine, i did check out the luxenon lights that you can get and was tempted to fabricate one but if there is a better option would be interested.

The LED I purchased from an electronics shop in Paris. The price is high, around £25,as I recall. It runs from a single small cell Lipo, directly conected. The mount is a tiny piece of ally plate to dissipate some heat. I switch it on just before take off as im not sure how long it will last without a proper heatsink. The view is very good, nearly 180 degs and it is briter than any other LED i have seen, but havnt seen too many. It has completed probably 100 flights and still going ok. I think it is slightly less bright after a couple of nose gear collapases, and subsequent ploughing of the field. This LED has saved the model several times, when in low light conditions or when the sun pops out from behind a cloud. I leave it powered all the time. The bat lasts at least 7 or 8, eight min flights.
Dont go to Paris at the moment, but if any one needs one let me know, and i can prob get a few and send them on, but wont be for couple of months. The videosthat show it, dontdo it justice.cheers Tim

Hi Tim, can you post a link to the vid of your Falcon.  Also, do you have details of the LED so I can chase some up down here? - thanks, John.

Did the guy that sells canopys ever produce conformal fuel tanks? I recall he mentioned that he would make the tanks and post pictures.

Ray

His is not a conformal tank and does not go over the rear spar, if you could do a proper conformal tank, say with an optional smoke compartment I am sure you would have lots of takers, me for one.

Hello All,

I am in the process of making Conformal Fuel Cells. One for the fuslage and one tank for each wing. The wing tanks fit inside the wing just behind the forward tube.... just like BVM Bobcat. They should be about 20oz each and the main tank around 78oz. I will post pics very soon.
