New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces

Guys
The long awaited A4 from Composite ARF has just got a step nearer. In the Museum scale class it features 2 years work down to counting rivit numbers! The Gear and Airbrakes are pneumatic, even with extending nose leg works! No fixed price yet, but look at the Mig 29 for an idea, more info at FJ in a couple of weeks Dave Wilshere |

Looks like the bench mark has just gone up a few levels.:D Gw |
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
Will they have the prototype at FJ? I bought an option anyway, cause this one I gotta have! Will they also plan for armament?

RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
David,
Yes, this A4-E Skyhawk will be debuted at Florida Jets!! From Andreas... "It is Museum Scale, has all the features of the full scale plane including a 100% scale rotating main gear and pneumatic strut-extending nose gear. Fuselage and wing speed brake doors operate pneumatically, the wheel brakes as well. It has a 2-part fuselage allowing to have front fuselage and wings assembled on the gear, removing and attaching the rear fuselage part with stab and fin within a minute, giving access to all pneumatic connectors and the engine. Wings have flaps, slats, speedbrakes, all operational. Powerful and efficient. It is an ultimate scale jet. Thousands of hours have been invested to make it really scale, I mean, rivet-counting scale" Rgds, Mark |
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
It will be somewhere between 4000 Euro/5000 USD for the kit and 8000 Euro/10,000 USD for the complete go-fly package No Turbine nor Electronic. Great looking model! |

RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces

RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
How are the spoilers, and the leading edge slats operated on the MODEL?
|
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
Speaking of spoilers, did only certain models of A4's have spoilers?
|
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
The answer is yes and they were ground spoilers only.

I believe the model is based upon an A4E Skyhawk.
I like this scheme too! |
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
Is it me or the Nose/cockpit area looks all wrong? [&:]
|
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
The cockpit is yet to be cut out for the glazing on this model and the rest is probably angles/light/illusions as there were thousands of hours spent getting this 'right' [X(]

RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
Sweet, this is a great looking kit. What are they looking at for power 120SE/Titan?

The A-4 has slats not L.E Flaps.
Oh yeah,,,,,,,,,,,thats a bomb ass airplane, god i would love to see the mechanisms they used for the slats!! |

ORIGINAL: NickC5FE The A-4 has slats not L.E Flaps. Oh yeah,,,,,,,,,,,thats a bomb ass airplane, god i would love to see the mechanisms they used for the slats!! The I think the slats deployed like the one's on the Me262 "Gravity"& airspeed Semper Fi ;) |
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
Joe,
You're correct, they are a "q" slat on the full size bird. This is also why the Blue Angels fixed the slats into the closed position to avoid the potential of the slats deploying at an inopportune time based on the type of formation manuevers they performed. Chris |
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
I spoke with Dave wilsthire earlier and he said P160SE for competition and P180-200 for fun!
I guess he means 160 to make 20kg limit, it's a big aeroplane! So the next JWM will feature a few I guess, he said the fuselage splits for transport and the wings plug in so it should travel well. Matt |
RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
Sweet Joe, i think the F-86 also had those type of slats (Aerodynamically driven) [X(]

RE: New Comp ARF A4 Skyhawk surfaces
I still would like to know how the leading edge slats and spoilers are operated on the MODEL.
