She's Back!

A British cold war icon flew in public for the first time today at the RAF Waddington airshow.:D
This is after a nine year, £7 million pound rebuild, paid for by the British public. It was easily the biggest attendance at this airshow in donkeys years, and there was a spontaneous round of applause as we saw her take to the skies. It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up to watch this quite unique shape in our skies one more.. |
RE: She's Back!
That's just a Kangaroo in camo paint scheme, right ? ;)
Good to see the Vulcan flying - hope they can keep her that way. |
RE: She's Back!

RE: She's Back!
Saw a Vulcan do a Demo at an AMA Nationals, musta been 40+ years a go, at Willow Grove Naval Air Station, Pa. Yes, and when that thing took off, it made the hairs on back of my neck stand up too. WOW ! I'll never forget it.

Vulcan flew into Brize Norton today. First time I've seen her airborne since 1992!
Cheers, Dick England |
RE: She's Back!
She came over my house today,a hard banking right turn back towards Lancaster
only about 1000 ft last time i saw one was at Fairford many years ago |

ORIGINAL: weasel33 She came over my house today,a hard banking right turn back towards Lancaster only about 1000 ft last time i saw one was at Fairford many years ago I believe she did a flypast over Lancaster as a mark of respect for one of her long-time engineers whose funeral took place there today. She came to Brize to operate out of here at a few airshows this weekend, but I'm told she has an U/C problem that might prevent this happening. Can't be anything to do with the landing she made today...probably the smoothest I've ever seen, with the rear pair of wheels on the ground for ages before the front pair of the bogie touched down! Dick PS...why do we refer to aircraft as 'she'?!! |
RE: She's Back!
Now get that Lightning back in the air also. (Or so I wish...)
