RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Right side in progress.
Rivet/screw detail left wing. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e79917-004.jpg I think that the right side will go faster, just mirroring the left. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e79918-005.jpg |
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
What an amazing job Peter! If you don't mind me asking, what material did you use to create the body under the aluminiun? was it wood ? I am not an expert atall, Ijust admire the work you guys do, and maybe I'll try to do a smaller version one day :)

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Under the aluminium sits EPS foam than two layers epoxy glassing and epoxy filler. The bulkheads are a cheap wood.
Last things before the Airshow in Holland. Right wing almost finished and the radome is painted. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e80566-001.jpg The pitot is 258 mm long, thats why it is called the viagra boom :D. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e80614-005.jpg |

Thanks Carlos :).
I see on your site that there will be a F16 D in the future, If I can get some good 3d pictures or drawings I am going to make the back tanks also. Than my B will look like a D :D. Greetings, Peter |

I will make the D and Block 60 version from any kit. I have a Yellow F-16, but I no want spent my time in this little jet. Do you think sell your model ? Would be a interesting solution. :D Really the 1:5 scale is excellent size, but I need a lot of money, too much money. The best option for my pocket is 1:6, more cheap. Regards from Spain.;) Carlos Márquez. ___________________________ http://cmjets.blogspot.com/ |
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Carlos, details4scale has the 1/6th Block 60 conversion kit. I think you can get the completely retrofitted model for like $6K.

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Hi::)
I look the site of Details 4 scale and only find that in soon they will have 2 seats version, but nothing over block 60 version. Have you the web page ? In any case I would be long enough to have a f-16. BR.;) Carlos Márquez. ___________________________ http://cmjets.blogspot.com/ |
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Finally the bird is out of the cage :D, A lot of interest among the military personal. The aluminium looks different in daylight, very nice.

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
looking good peter. I see your using a Danny Coremans book as well. With all the walk-around books i have seen, his are the best and most detailed
|
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Yes, Danny's book shows a lot and sometimes it has just a detail which I forgot to make a picture of. Met him last Airshow at Leeuwarden Airbase taking a lot of pictures :D
Spent last wednesday 2.5 hours under a F16 to make pictures and measurements.... and missed a spot :). Danny's book showed the panel. The airco panel, the cover will be a extra item. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e82288-001.jpg |

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
Are you going to make it fly ? intall the engine and everything to make a RC airplane ?
|
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
his will be the plug to pull fiberglass parts from. This will not fly.
|
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
ORIGINAL: cesar.ice Are you going to make it fly ? intall the engine and everything to make a RC airplane ? At 120 kg the piece, you'd need a pretty hefty engine to fly it. |
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
:D:D 4 x BF 300 :D:D, rocketing it sky high.
It took me some time to make the panel besides the intake. Visited again the base for more info and here is the result. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e82857-003.jpg http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e82859-005.jpg http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e83698-009.jpg http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e83696-010.jpg http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...e83697-014.jpg Got a tip from somebody about a real F16 bulkhead, it was fore sale. I bought it!! I think that I am going to use this for alu parts :D It is not used, has a milling fault. I think that it's position is between the last fuel panels. But a contact on the base will look it up for me what the exact position is and wich alu it is made off. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/...mpspantf16.jpg |
RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B
