XTM Mammoth?
I am considering the XTM Mammoth again as my first truck. I have heard that it is really weak though. What parts on it are exactly so "weak" and what hop up parts would fix this? Also what other problems does the XTM Mammoth have? What hop ups would fix these? Thanks.

The regular Mammoth has been discontinued so your only option is the Mammoth ST.

Its not the trucks fault it is the operators. Just like real cars it is the persons fault for doing 80mph on the freeway and slamming on the brakes and cause a 20 car pile up. The car was in great shape it was the operators fault. You know what I am saying?

no not really, ive owned 6 different trucks and ive never had a truck blow both diffs in under a half a gallon of fuel, it's poorly designed and cheaply made IMO.

The diffs will need shimming before you do any serious driving. Info on how that can be done is in the link that I provided. Aluminum arms can be found here, www.bigairproducts.com which is really one of the only things that should be upgraded besides a center diff.
Allot of the breakages are dependant on how you drive. I broke a front lower arm, steering knucke, and c-block when I hit an imovable object at 40 MPH. But a friend of mine jumps his and does back flips all of the time and hasn't broken any thing.
It is a good truck and allot of the problems people have with it is due to operator error regardless of what people say.

Ok the diffs will hold up fine. I have driven my mammoth st for 1 and a half gallons w/o shimming and w/o the center diff. My friend has had his mammoth st longer then me and he hasnt did any diff mods or center diff and he has driven his for 4 gallons

I can only speak from personal experiance and on mine I was surprised that the diffs even worked with the amount of slop in them. I think that they at least should be checked to see if they need shimming. Which can be easlily done before the truck is ran for the first time.
The friend of mine that does the jumping didn't do anything to his truck other than fuel and batteries he didn't even check the screws so allot of the upgrades are dependant on how you drive. I like bigair's arms and his warranty but I'm not convinced on the need of a center diff yet myself but allot of other people are.

So the XTM Mammoth is just like an average truck, things break, but it isn't a total piece of junk right?

The ST doesn't need allot of money right of the bat to make it durable. The only real issue that I have heard of right out of the box is the diffs needing to be shimmed (but that is a case by case some trucks do some don't) lock tite and the steering servo isn't the most reliable. I haven't had problems with the servo but I know of people that have.

Unless you want to start another thread asking people what truck you should buy.

RE: REVOFAMILY keep your nose out of this one(XTM Mammoth)
I am being useful. I'm trying to "egg" you on to getting a MT.
Every single MT being made today has good and bad points. Every single one will break. Since you've asked about nearly every one being made and, presumably, read and understood the answers and opinions you've recieved, you now know that A-arms are going to break and gears are going to strip.
Now, quit being a chicken and decide on the MT YOU like and go buy it.
One other piece of advice, You should be careful who you insult. Once you decide on a truck, you WILL have questions and it seems like you are trying to anger some of the most helpful and knowledgeable people on the boards.

Sorry, its just some people have to act like smart asses before they give useful advice. I did already decide on the XTM Mammoth, what do you think, do you think it is junk, or is it just like any other mt.

It is like any other truck out there. It has its bad points. But companys come out with hop ups to make the truck better. So I say go for it. remember it is your decisions they other people arent the ones who are going to drive it. SO it is all up to you.

I think it's going to break. Did you not read the responses to your own thread? At least half or more said theirs have broken.
Besides, what does it matter what I (or anybody else) thinks? It's going to be your truck. You have to like it, not me or them.
