Default good all around bashing tire for tmaxx??

i am going to be getting new rims/tires for my tmaxx in the near future, hopefully 2-3 paychecks from now anyways, i want a tire that will last long, has good offroad traction, and half decent to good on road pavement traction. the reason is because i have a typical day like this: go outside and start my maxx then run one tank through it on the street to get the needles tuned correctly and everythign in running order. then either at the end of tank one or beginning of two i will put the body on and richen the hsn a bit if i really need to. then i finish that tank up in the park and bring another one or two tanks along with me to refill there. the park mainly consists of loose sand, hard dirt, and 2-4in high grass. so i really need an all around tire the on road is the least important, but my main concern with on road is the life of the tires. i want this to be a one time a year deal. im not concerned with ultra speedy super anal racer tires and stuff(lol), i just need something dependable. for on road i wouldnt really mind if it breaks traction a lot, its mostly just for tuning purposes but i want to still be able to go over to the kmart parkinglot and get a bunch of people watching me aside from the proline velocity rim, what else is really really light? the stock rims are bent, that or the tires arent glued right, but i reglued and same thing happened and i can see by eye(heh, no kidding) and it is wobbly. what tire/rim combo do you suggest? and no, not big joes or any other bigger than tmaxx stock tires. i was wondering how the imex baja tires are? i checked the imex site and i think i would get med. density since harder compounds last longer, but i want some first hand knowledge of this stuff. how long do proline bow ties last? traxxas sporttraxx are what i was leaning towards, from what i understand they are good all around tires and have great inserts. what do you guys think?

ps-sorry for all the questions

that is exactly what bow ties and sportraxx tires are! but if you want a tire like the sporttraxx get the maxx mulchers from proline they are a harder compound. but i would probably get savage tires on rpm offset titan wheels or j hawgs from i mex.
or maybe panther plowboys

pick up a set up mounted proline maxxmasher wheels and tires. great tires my bro has them on his t-maxx and they barly show any wear and have great traction. we run on hard packed dirt, grass, rocks, and a good amount of onroad

1. aren't the mulcher the same as the stock tires...just with cuts in them?

2. what are offset tires? and what's the difference between them and lets say the stock kind?

they look like the stock tires with cuts in them as with any chevron tread tire. however the compound, size, foam inserts, and offset of the wheel is a ton different and those cuts in them make a big difference too.

offest wheels are rims that move the attaching point so that the wheels sit further out. for example on your stock t-maxx wheels the nut sits almost flush with the entire face of the rim where as the nut on the proline wheel is recessed into the tire so much so that we use the glowplug wrench to take the nut off kause nothing else we have is long and narrow enough to fit in there

bow ties are not for pavement.

I would get a set of stock savage tires, good long lasting and the foams are good for all around bashing. them i would get a set of RPM stablemax offset rims. IMO that woul dbe the one tire one rim set up for all terrains that I would run.

i remember someone told me that the mulchers arent too hot on street... and i dont think im gonna be getting offset rims, it may stand quite wider than i need it to. how much harder is it for them to turn with the stock servo? i may upgrade to a hs645mg first...

the offset will give you more stability you may want that in a tmaxx and your stock servo should handle them, but i'm not all that familiar with the tmaxx, i have the 645 in my savages and it is a great servo

i have mulchers and mashers. MULCHERS are big step pins. MASHERS are chevrons.
mulchers are hard compound and mashers soft. the mashers are awesome tires and hook up everywhere but wear down on the street. the savage tires are also good as i said earlier. the offset should not affect it that much(servo) but i would definatly get offset for the stability.

how long do you expect mashers to last if they are run maybe 1 tank on the street, burning out or powerslides or anything, and usually 2-3 tanks on dirt and stuff?

ill probably go for the maxx mashers with proline grey inserts and some kinda cool rim. lol. im thinkin velocity 6 or rpm titans/claws in blue chrome i doubt ill get offset rims, it is wide enough as it is.

edit: lol in my post above i meant to put NO burning out and powerslides

my bro runs his mashers on our driveway alot and we do power slides and everything with them and they aren't showing a whole lotta wear i mean he has gone through about 1.5 gallons without too much wear. i think he has the velocity6 wheels i dun member but its whatever proline mounts them too and they are offset a little. just recently we upgraded to the ultratorque hi-tec servo just for the extra torque but the stock one handled it fine. even more the offsets stopped roll overs alot and now we run ultra stiff springs, widemaxx kit, and the offset rims it sits a good inch wider in both directions, turns very flat without a lot of body roll and is almost impossible to flip

lol its ok we all do it but seriously get the offset wheels you will enjoy it alot better when you can take that quick turn and not have to run after your truck to flip it back over again.
