Default dimensions of "socks 4 shocks"

hey, i want some covers for my shocks to keep the shafts clean from dirt and dust and whatnot. my mom sews and stuff so im going to put her to work lol. she has some lycra stuff, and thats what the socks are made of from what i know. anyways, i need to dimensions on them... i can figure out the shock length, but how long should the piece be that is wrapped around it(the circumference)? i need this dimension before it is sewed. if you have the real shock socks then if you could take one off, lay it flat, measure the width and multiply by 2 to give me the overall width that would be great.... thanks for any help in advance!

Mine are 4 1/4" long and 3/4" wide(x2 = total of 1 /1/2" wide unsewn). Keep in mind these have an elasticity. And stretch over your springs for a tight fit. If you are using cloth, you might want to give her a spring to test on.

Take Care

actually the idea struck me when my mom went school shopping she bought some book covers. they are all stretchy and stuff, they are lycra. anyways i stole one of my sisters and cut it up lol. it worked so my mom bought some blue ones. heh. i paid 79 cents for the stuff and i saved like $19 lol. i found my own dimensions to work good: 5cm wide(when not sewed together), and 9cm long when i cut them to size.
