steering freeplay
I have a savage 21 and have noticed that the steering has quite a bit of freeplay in it. is there meant to be any at all? could this be the cause of why my truck never seems to run quite straight?

steering freeplay
A few things would cause that and one of the results would be that it won't run in a straight line.
It could be your steering servo saver is getting worn. Try getting a new Kimbrough or another type and see if it clears it up. Either that or replace it with another stock saver and see if that helps.
The stock servo saver is a little weak though and because it provides the "slop" most get a better one if not a new steering servo altogether.
