Default antenna wire tricks?

Anyone have any cool ideas on how to secure the wire to the antenna tube other than small pieces of fuel tubing? Has anyone used heat sink? Looking for good ideas.

If you are going to use heat shrink tubing on the end of your antenna, you need to spiral wrap the antenna wire that is sticking out the top of the antenna tube around the top around the outside of the tube. This way, the heat shrink will not be able to slide off (and in my opinion, the thread like pattern looks good too).

I did that & after a few slides on asphalt I ended up with 2 antennae halves.

I know you said besides fuel tubing. But i take 2 piceces of fuel tubing at a 1/4" long.

Slide 1 on then down for later use. then take your wire over the edge. Put your second one on over the wire on the top. Wrap your wire around the mast completely, then slide the first one up over the bottom of the last wrap. Works awsome. With 2 on there you never catch a wire.

Also shoe goo your mast to the reciever box, that way it does not pull off and rip your wire ate the base.

2 bad things with the knot.

One if your mast has enough force to pull out. your wire is going to rip.

two, if you have no protection on the end. when you roll it chews your wire up.
