Pro-line ofna dominator conversion to maxx suspension?
My first question is do you think it is really worth it? I just bought a set of the bulkhead conversion for $55 on ebay new but i am haveing second thoughts about it. Should i go with allum arms for the conversion, or should i go with some rpm arms and an rpm shocktower set? I have only had the rpm stuff b4 and i have really had any experience with allum arms so your input would help greatly. Thanks Ken.

RE: Pro-line ofna dominator conversion to maxx suspension?
My buddy runs this setup. Is it worth it. I guess if you do it right. I personally never liked it much but my friend didn't spend the time setting up the way I would have so draw you own conclusions. What I do know is when you combine 2.5 maxx stuff with the Beast ( Dominator) you gotta do it right. CVD's go super maxx or go home. I have the MIP's in my JT and they are ok but bend pretty easy and IMO don't compare to OFNA stock unit's. Same thing with the Hub carriers and hex adapters. If it's not after market expect it to break sooner then later. The steering setup never seemed right to me. This I will chalk up to my buddies setup problems. But remember your changing the steering linkage so use some beefy and long Lunsford stuff. On to the shocks being used if your gonna use your stock Dom unit's your good to go. 8 is cool but really overkill on this setup. I wouldn't waste my time on Big bores or anything else unless it's clearly better then the Dom stock unit's. I think I covered most of it. You also may only be able to use the lower skid for crash protection. I can't say how many times that extra bumper saved me. Thats some on it if you need more help post away. So is it worth it IMO not really I mean the best Arms for this setup are Racer X from super maxx and we all know that's like buying another RTR.

Yeah, i had planned on fabbing a custom mount for the stock dominator bumper anyways[sm=greedy.gif]. I know i won't be running with out it! The rear should be fine with the stock rear skid for protection but i will have to see about that. I am running the stock hyper engine in it , so i should be fine on power to weight. The Manager ( my best bud) at my local hobby shop told me this setup would cost some money but it will be worth it. Total i only spent $150 for the titainium cvds and the other parts. I will keep you posted on how it goes when i get the stuff installed and running, I plan on upgrading to either a dynamite .26 [>:]or the orion wasp .26[>:] soon. Ken.

*badboy2* i had to buy the bulkheads, the suspension arms, the wide turnbuckles/tie-rods, axles carries, cvd's ( i went with titainium ones ) and the hardware the mount all this stuff up. Total i spent around $150-$175. I bought most this stuff on ebay so i got it cheaper than new. Ken

the link i just posted is to the hub conversion, it's only $22 and i think it makes your truck wider by like 1 inch and lets you use t-maxx wheels. Ken

RE: Pro-line ofna dominator conversion to maxx suspension?
Ok, well i have gotten all the bugs out and have finally broke something. After running full speed for about 3 seconds i hit a small pudle and then hit the brakes but that didn't help at all, i slammed into a telephone pole at full speed because it just slid for about 3 ft into a patch of grass and did a nose wheelie and smacked the pole. I thought i killed it because i heard a VERY loud SNAP! but it turns out all i broke was the front shock tower and broke it i did! for the most part i was very satisfied. I'll let the pics say the rest, btw sorry for the crappy pics, i have a $50 digi cam that has poor resolution. Ken

RE: Pro-line ofna dominator conversion to maxx suspension?
It took me a whole 5 mins two switch the towers and remount the shocks. This think seems even faster than before the conversion. It handles like a dream and can do a 180 turn with out use of brakes very good. Keep in mind i still have the stock radio equipment in this thing. It never ceses to amaze me. I did a 2 minute donut in the ally behind my house and didn't flip it at all. I have to try very hard to roll it over, but even then the only way i can is if i go off a ramp croocked. In my opinion this conversion is very VERY good to have as a racer, and even as a basher. I mostly bash my truck but next weekend i am going to Hobbytown usa to race. I doubt i will win because i have the stock engine and i have to run in the outlaw class but hey, i sure will give em a run for there money.

RE: Pro-line ofna dominator conversion to maxx suspension?
hey there guy's im new to this site and to rc cars in general so so tips would be helpfull and much needed.so im building a dominator with the maxx susp, im running the racer x arms and hubs i think I got them from a friend so im not to sure . I just dropped in a os v-spec and im hopping it will be enough because the chassy is rather heavy due to all the alloy. but i was thinking about running some big bore shocks with stiff progresive springs and if i can find them some pro line dampners. I have a mutant t maxx with that setup and it seems to do well, right now i have the stock shocks only one to each wheel and it's just to soft what springs what would work good with them and how well do these dominator's work out on the track after doing all this?
