NEWBIE
I am a newbie and im just getting into this sport i have prepaid an ordered on a savage ss from a local hobytown. Is this an extremly new unit because the salesman said that they havent had one in yet but it looks like there are quite a few ppl on here with one ohwell am i getting off on the right foot? also what is a good radio i was thinking the jr xr3i or the airtonics M8 but it looks a little confusing and im just a newbie who is lookin for a new hobby

Yes, they're out. They started showing up right at the beginning of September. I have still seen a few around in LHS's, but the first shipments went pretty fast. I have seen prices from $329 to $369.
As far as the radios go, if you're looking at the M8, I'd look at the JR XS3. I'm pretty happy with mine, and I think they're still being sold for $239. Pretty good price for synthesized.
However, if the SS is the only RC vehicle you plan to own and you don't have a need to change frequencies, then you could get a good FM radio for much less than the M8 or XS3.

thanks for the reply, they told me that the truck wont be in till the 30th of this month so now im just going to start buying hopups today i did get the jr xs3 the roto start a reverse mod. my batery packs chargers and im lookin into some street cars
