SS wont shift with 18 tooth clutch bell....
When I first put together my SS, I used the 15 tooth bell. I just changed to the 18 tooth bell, and I cant hit second gear anymore. Does anyone have any ideas? Also my truck is starting to run hot. The high speed needle is at 3 and 3/4's out, and the manual says that when tuned in you should be at 2 1/2 to 3. So I'm still running a little bit rich. Help, PLEASE.

I forgot, I'm running the HPI power fuel and the original glow plug. Low speed needle is at 1/8th leaner than factory

You probably need to adjust the shift points on the tranny.
He is right. I just swaped motors in mine and I kept trying to tune the motor to make it shift then found out the new motor does'nt turn as many RPM's.

First, make sure your motor is tuned correctly, and that your carburetor is fully opening.
Make sure you get a long straight area, preferably on hardpack or asphalt. Apply the throttle smoothly, and listen closely for the pitch change. I have the SS, and my two-speed is shifting very early. Also, it's not a very noticeable shift with the 18T clutch bell because it shifts at a fairly low RPM. You need to listen closely to catch it.
