Smartech Bigfoot
Can anyone please help me? I have been given what I believe is a Smartech Bigfoot 1/5 scale truck. It has never been run. It was taken out of the box about 18 months ago and then forgotten about until my sister-in-law found it in her garage. I couldn't turn it down when she offered it to me! Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the instruction manual from? I do not want to risk starting it up if it needs setting up properly first. I am new to fuel powered models. The last car Iowned was back in about 1990- The Tamiya Thundershot electic car and things have changed a lt since then!
Thanks in advance for any help offered,
jimbo.

RE: Smartech Bigfoot
Smartech sold many models under many different brands, and sometimes with different features and parts. Can you shoot us a pic of what you've got? Chances are that some Chinese box shifter or other, is still selling it, though likely under a different name.

Thanks, photos attached. Further research suggests it could be a ShengQi 1:5 Petrol RC Monster Truck or ********, they all seem to be the same truck.

RE: Smartech Bigfoot
The nutech cars are based on a different chassis design.
What you have tere is also known as the Duratrax Firehammer, an FG clone manufactured by smartech and rebadged and further cloned by others including ShenQi. It's by and large a decent car, and you will find that a large range of spares designed for the FG Marder and FG Monster Beetle (as well as of course Duratrax Firehammer parts which are still around if you look for em) will fit. Most hopups for those cars should fit as well, it was a pretty faithful clone of the Marder based Monster Beetle.
If you don't already have them, you should immediately look into alloy engine mounts, the engine rocks back and forth and side to side on the stock plastic ones.
