The big diff. is that its a 4WD stadium truck, and its a good truck in many aspects. I own a Savage and I like it alot, but I would not rule out this truck its very good if you get the new version.

Those trucks are all good but 2-wheel drive. I would recommend a 4-wheel drive truck if your a newbie

Whatever you do please do not buy anything from TRAXXAS, there customer service and products totally suck ass. I learned the hard way, first with a Nitro Rustler and then 2 Tmaxxs. I bought a Savage and never looked back, I'm finally happy with my product. The best customer service I've seen is Ofna.

yea....I figured you weren't a newbie cause you probably would of said.....anyways I still think you should get a 4-wheel drive truck if your not going to be a serious racer. I was bashing my truck (4-wheel drive) and climbing up a big mound of gravel at my construction site. I lost a set screw for my front diff joint so it was 2-wheel drive. I tried climbing it again and it didn't even stand a chance. It got a 1/4 of the way up the mound before the wheels just kept spinning. I also think 4-wheel drive is more fun because I can can do almost anything!

Look at the Cen Fun Factor Trucks, You can get the MT2 as a 4x4 or the stadium as a two and upgrade it later. It comes with a 2.66 CC engine, just a touch more powerful than the new traxxas T-maxx 2.5. Plus you can get it RTR for 300 bucks. And on the side, the Cen MT2 doesn't need any hop-ups to make it a good truck, so that 300 is all you need to invest to get started. Since you already have another car, I would recommend using that remote and just getting a second crystal for the truck, since the Cen transmitter is not the greatest. But that is the only short coming of this truck. Just my $.02

Hpi is a good reliable company but not many people (i know) own a 4wd stadium truck thats why i would suggest to get 2wd because so many have one.

Check this 4 wd stadium truck. It has a 3 speed tranny and is belt driven. OOHH did I mention it does 70 mph !!! I am going to buy it when my lhs gets the account with schumacher.

I personally was close to purchasing a "Mini Monster Truck" myself. This is definitely a good truck. When I was searching and something I haven't heard anyone hear mention is the Megatech Gladiator. The testers at R/C Car were ready to race the buggies with this bad boy (.16 engine)[>:]. There main concern with it were the "crush nut" hubs. Seemed like they had to tighten the wheel nuts often. If they had metioned a way to fix that problem, I probably would have purchased one. R/C Car performed a test of Mini Monster Trucks that is posted in their July issue. The HPI MT ranked first in this comparo for handling and its lack of mechanical problems by the end of the day. It also requires a little more work than your averae RTR to get it going.

70mph...

What good does that do besides going "REALLY FAST" on a big straight?

Really, where can you take advantage of that much speed. Isn't that a 3 speed as well?

How does it perform while bashing or racing?

I have a Schumacher TC and like it a lot, but 70mph on a truck has got to be a bit uncontrolable.

Well i believe that the original post was:

"is the hpi nitro mt any good? is there soemthign better out there that is a stadium truck but not a monster truck?"

I beleive that the schumacher is a fun and fast 4wd stadium truck. I was just offering an option. As I stated I have not bought one yet, however the idea of a truck that is capable of hitting 70 mph sounds like way to much fun to pass up.

Also the Traxxas Nitrotec does 60 mph and that is not uncontrolable.
