Default BEWARE....Pin holes in savage 21 shock cases

Well i'm on about my 4th gallon in my 21 and the shocks have been way sloppy for awhile just been lazy about rebuilding. Well went to the LHS and got some 35 wt and started to rebuild...after i filled 2 of them up and screwed the cap on and flexed the shock i noticed that oil was coming out of a little pin hole in both of them. Both shocks were leaking at the points where they were connected coming off the assembly line(like in a kit where you have to cut with knife and all). Should i call HPI for some new ones? It is a defect in my opinion. I would love alumimum shocks but for a 100 bucks .... NO! they have kits now for 250$ that have alum. shocks which is aggrevating that they charge 100$ for an aftermarket set. Anyway just wanted to let ppl know.

put a little RTV there... let it cure and you should fine for the time being..... until you hear from HPI, but they are pretty good... they will probably replace them, IF you send in the original ones....

If you are looking for aftermarket shocks I can hook you up with a place that sells the hot bodies shocks for a good price.
Ide link it here but dont know the rules of the forum and dont want to get myself and the site in trouble for it.
PM me if your interested.

I had the exact same problem with my Savage right after I bought it last June. Six of my eight shock bodies were leaking. I sent them back to HPI and they replaced the leaking shock bodies for free. It took about a month to get them though. This problem is posted on the HPI website.
