I just got a TQ with the TORQ 21 in it and what I can say is how easy it has been to start and run all the way through the break in and beyond. Needle adjustments are positive and to me it is an easy engine to tune. While it's not in the class of other engines....it's a good engine for what it's intended for....to give the user time for fun.
Just my 2 cents.

What is a good fuel for thr Torq .21 engine? My cousin is having a hard time getting his started. The recoil died also. Now he has a electric starter on car. But I think the carb is way off now or the fuel filler devise he added is messing things up? Could use some tips. I hope we can get it purring good again. He ran it rich and the piston looks good looking into the exhaust port. Thanks Captinjohn

I am using Wildcat 15 % which is what I use in my airplane engines also and....the TORQ 21 engine is running fine on it for me.
Things to consider when having problems with an engine:
1. Glow fuel is old or contaminated / has moisture in it.
2. Glow plug may be bad. Even if it glows...it may not be working (all coils glowing evenly).
3. Needle settings need to be put back to specs in instructions.
4. Air leaks at the base of the carb or hole in fuel lines...or leak in tank or the lid is not sealing completely.
5. Glow igniter needs to be fully charged to do it's job properly.
6. Loosen glow plug 1/4 turn when starting engine...when it starts...tighten it back down.
Also....see the link for additional thoughts.

RE: TORQ .21 GOOD OR BAD ENGINE??
Does anyone know the "factory" or default low speed needle setting? Im having trouble getting mine to run cool. it only even runs in a certain range on the hi-speed needle around 2 1/2 turns out. but it gets HOT. I dont want to run it too long trying to "figure it out" as it gets hot pretty fast.
