Default All show...no go ! Help

My T-maxx 2.5 / Sirio 18 maybe has a transmission problem?

It rev's up really good but barely moves, like something is slipping...bad! But in reverse it seems OK. (key!)

On the bench everything 'looks' good: drives shafts turn, wheels turn.

Thinking this may be a clutch Pb and wanting to change clutches anyway I switched to a 3-shoe aluminum clutch. Didn't help ! That eveidently was not the Pb...

Any ideas?

Mike

Sounds like tranny is not moving into forward. I would take the tranny out and make sure all the gears are fine. Then if thats not it make sure the slider that shifts the tranny into forward is fully engaging. This is a common problem with the maxx sometimes the tranny sticks.

could still be a clutch issue. go buy a stock clutch and spring and test it with those. It may not seem like its a big deal but I had similar problems when I tried a T-maxx clutch in my Cen MT2. It turned out that the spring was to strong and the clutch to light.

Correct me if I'm wrong but why would you go and buy new parts with out being sure of the problem. He did say it will work in reverse. If this is the case the clutch slipping or not engaging is not the problem. I would think if it was the clutch it would not work in reverse either. Right or wrong?

Take it to a hobby shop and let them look at it. They should know what to do....most hobby shops cater to traxxas.

i think its the tranny ...and i also think that if its clutch it wont go either reverse or forward ...but would it do reverse if theres something wrong with the tranny?now that i thot of that maybe check all the pins on the shafts see if they r all in there..

Yea... color me stupid. I am not used to reverse, so my brain wasn't working. If it does go reverse then it is most likely a trans problem.
