New ride coming next Wednesday...
Well my new nitro rig should arrive next Wednesday. Merry Xmas to me.........
I wanted a RTR nitro that could be built up for serious crawling. I decided to go with the X-Factor. I know. Most people say electric is better for crawling. I don't like electric! They say nitro's overheat, no torque, so on and so on.
As for the heat issue. Why not go fan cooled? Heck, I might as well go all the way and go water cooled? The torque issue really isn't an issue at all. There's several ways to get the gearing REALLY low.
To some this all up. I can't wait to start modifying......................

RE: New ride coming next Wednesday...
I've done a little crawling with my Savage & it does surprisingly well but I'd tend to agree with the overheating & glazed clutch theory. My engine starts running really crappy if I crawl for more than a few minutes so I have to ease into a few high speed passes for it to come back in. I don't know if that has to do with heat or what but it's an easy temporary fix. I didn't know they made water cooled heads for land engines. I've always thought that was exclusive to boats. Congrats on the purchase & nice truck!! Keep us updated.
