I dont know of any AWD trucks that you can just buy that does 70-80...Best bet is to probably but something like the Dominator with the 2 speed and get the tallest gears you can get...

When you go to get that shu, just go ahead and buy a couple or 3 of them. That way you can keep at least one running.

Been running my menace since october. In that time i have broken one rear arm after hitting a drain grate a full speed and cartwheeling for 50 feet! Xtreme R/C cars just did a review on the Menace. They got 65mph out of the box but admitted that they could have gone faster if they had a bit more room.

There is no need for a 4WD truck to do 70mph. I can tell you have never had a fast R/C car because if you've ever owned a truck that would go even 45 you'd know that was almost to fast already. A crash at 70mph would totally destroy any R/C car.

The big problem with doing 70mph in a truck, you will destroy it when you crash. It's neat, but impractical. 45-50 with the Hybrids is very fast for offroad, and 70 is strictly street. You take any monster truck and make it do 70 off-road and it will basically destroy itself when crashed. Durability and speed do not go together in a monster truck. What exactly are you wanting to do with the 4wd truck?

Keep wishing. To my knowledge, extremely fast AND reliable are mutually exclusive terms when referring to an AWD rc car. As with any size vehicle, the faster you make it, the more work (and money) it takes to keep it that way.
and BTW, I've seen a few 60 plus mph rc car crashes and none of the cars survived to tell the tale. I saw one vid of a car doing an insane speed run smacking a wall at 68 mph and it looked like someone tossed a 5 gallon bucket of loose parts out on the track.

The only other truck that can come close to the Shumacher is the Mammoth. Out of the box it will do 50+. But if you get the optional gears for it XTM claims that it will do 60+ mph. But then again, at that speed you WILL break something when you crash, and you will crash it sooner or later.

yeah I saw the mammoth review. I wonder if that's true.... it seems pretty hard to imagine. I haven't seen a mammoth run, and it seems pretty fast like the 2.5 maxx. Cause of the light weight advantage. RC action did a review on the savage and they said it went 32 mph. That's with a .21 from HPI. The savage is heavy. Like everyone said... Speed does not go with durability. Durability goes with lesser speed. I had a fast onroad, had it slide into a curb, pretty much destroyed everything on the left side, from just sliding. that's about 30-40 mph. Any faster, nothing is coming out of the wreck that is quite usable.

I know that my Savage with a Picco .26 will not stand a chance against my Mammoth. Hopefully this weekend I'll find out how fast my Mammoth will go, I'm putting a Venom Speed Meter on it. If I can get it working correctly, I'll have a good idea of how fast it will go. But I do know that it will haul *****. its faster than anything else I've seen so far. But when you wreck at those speeds it does break. I hit a curb at about 40mph and it broke

IMO, a problem with that much speed is control, at 70 mph the operator isn't in control, they are simply hangin' on!

Also, that exciting top speed comes at a price, poor bottom end.

As for the Mammoth, when its stock it has great bottom end, it uses a standard 14 tooth gear for the low end and I think a 19 for the high, it does have great top end. they say 50+mph. But your right, the new gears are 16 tooth for the low gear and I think they said 21 tooth for the high gear. That will make the low end suck. And yes at 50 its hard to controle, ad you MUST have great breaks and a big parking lot to play in. I havent had it off road yet. but I will, and I doubt that I will ever have it at top speed off road.

You can replace the stock gears and get the Schumacher over 80MPh.... I would love to see it in person.

or you could lower the gears on the menace and get more bottom end ....... maybe bring the speed down to 50 that should be fast enough even in a parking lot!

50 .. when are you ever going to use 50?! I tried using 50 on my pirate ten.. there is no use for it really... unless your in a parking lot with a wide open space... that you need. Otherwise.. nope..... Super fast truck with no control.... fun but rediculous fun

Bigger engine does not always mean more speed. Yes accelerate a bit faster, and get a little more top end. But until you change gearing and everything that backs it up, you can not expect it to go extremely fast. The TMaxx out of box does like 43 - 44. I put a Fantom 18 in mine and figure once it broken in, would go around 45 - 47 max. Not to much faster.

I hear ya on the gearing and sheet, could someone tell me the exact gear/gears to make it wheelie from a dead stop, or even wheelie at all. I can't get it to wheelie , even in the road. I want a sheet load of power off the start without losing to much top end. gonna put the .26 motor in it i think. At my hobbie shop today and he was showing me some kit with the motor tuned pipe and all? (Worth it?) 218.99 or 289.99 lol 1 of em

The Menace has a 3 speed. The bottom end is just as stupid fast as the top speed. No such thing as too fast a vehicle...ok maybe if you a noob using the trigger as an on/off switch. Every radio ive owned has proportional throttle so you can go any speed you want.
