Default t-maxx 2nd gear (newby question)

newby question....my t-maxx doesnt seem to be shifting into second gear while it is running, is it something i cant hear or is it doing something wrong?...all of the t-maxx videos i ahve watched on the internet, i can hear shifting. HELP[&o]

you should be able to hear it but sometimes you cant(if its far away) first gear usally only goes about 20mph, if its going faster than that its shifting, also your shift point might be to high or to low

the last time my maxx wasnt shifting it was because my tuning was off

If the engine is too rich, it will not shift.

i have only had this truck sence x-mas and i really dont know muck about them...would it be a good idea for me to take apart the tranny and look around?

Not unless you want to take it to the hobby shop and pay $100 to get it put back togeather.[X(]

Dude,

don't take apart the tranny. You will know when your maxx shift's you will hear it and see it. read your manual and retune it. Set your high speed needle 4 full turns from closed and set your low speed needle flush with the housing. This is all in the traxxas site. Then retune. here.
