Default scratch built monster truck

anyone ever built a monster truck from scratch?

I'd like to build a large one, like maybe 1/5th scale or so..
using an extremely good 50cc gasoline engine like a Desert Aircraft DA-50 R http://www.desertaircraft.com/da50.html

I saw a gasoline powered buggy: http://traxxas.com/products/nitro/mo...rx_monster.htm

something larger than that even, but im wondering about a few things like tires, where would I get large tires, and also making the parts out of aluminum like the arms, bulkheads, shock towers, tranny case, chassis.. damm this would be one hell of a project!

anyways if anyone knows or has done anything like this id like to see the results or tips or any kind of info

If you want to get into custom stuff and get some good info talk to RCJack!! His truck the Pie Wagon was built from the ground up and almost all the parts were designed and built by him.

Here is pic of his creation!!!

(expletive!) That Pie Wagon looks intense!! And those rims, like mirrors. That is a fine example of some serious engineering

I think what they're trying to say is ----------> It's a truck built from other parts. Sure, it's not built from scratch, but give the guy some credit. It's a nice truck all the same....[&:]

Just my .02....

[link=http://www.marksmark.net/]http://www.marksmark.net/[/link]

check out the "bad monkey Jr." section (project R/C)
this guy built a truck from scratch... I think the only things he didnt make were the electronics and the tires... the rest was machined out of metal.

Awsome project lots and lots of pictures.
