Default Pre-filter needs oil?

Since I never had a three-stage filter, is it necessary to oil the outer filter?

Thanks.

I dont suggest running oil in the pre filter. If you run oil in the pre filter it kind of defeats it's purpose. The pre filter help keep the large dirt particles off of your primary filter allowing it to stay clean longer. Just remove the pre filter after every race and blow it out.

Are you running the Kyosho filter? If you are check out the instructions that come with it, pretty sure it says not to oil it in there.
