The pede is a awesome car it extremley durable and can be upgraded to the point of a 4link suspension and 4wd. Check out RCMT.net they hae a section n there forums for pedes.

I was just wondering, do they still make it nitro? Cause the nitro Stampede is what got me into nitro r/c. Guy at a car show had one running around and after watching him chase little kids and stuff, I was hooked!

I've been told by the guy at my local hobby shop that you can still get the Nitro Stampede from some distributors, but that it won't be very long before you'll only be able to find used ones. But they made a lot of them, so you might be able to get one that wasn't run too hard and then replace the engine and basically have the equivalent of a new one. I'm sure there are probably lots of them sitting around...
Personally I have not had much success finding aftermarket parts for it, but I've only been looking for about a week or two, so I'll keep searching.
I love my nitro 'pede ... it's a great truck. TRX Pro .15 runs really hot, though. Used to make me nervous until some guys told me it was just a characteristic of the engine and not to worry about it too much. Apparently you're supposed to run Traxxas Top Fuel in it, right now I'm just using up some Sig 10% stuff I had sitting around, so maybe it won't run as hot with Traxxas.' We'll see.
I think it'd be a great truck for any beginner. Although I haven't really used many others, I can't imagine a better time. It's fast enough to be exciting but still totally controllable, it'll do a wheelie if you gun it hard, and I could do skid-turn 180s in a sandy parking lot with it all day. I've heard it's great off of even really huge jumps, although I haven't had the opportunity yet.

We used to race a stampede electric class at our local track and it was a blast man. put in an aftermarket stock turn motor play with the suspension a little and you wont believe how they handle. peace
