A colder plug is used for lower content nitro, and a medium for mid nitro and hot is used for high nitro content. In some cases, you would use a colder plug with a larger engine and higher nitro. The heat of a plug is pretty much the timing system in a nitro. The hotter a plug the sooner it will detonate. If you get to hot a plug in your system it will cause predetonation and loss of power, ulitmately ruining an engine.

with the Genesis, you should run 30 percent since its a big block, and you would run a cold plug and maybe a warm.
