TMaxx rollcages?
so... I see these Roll cages on ebay for the Tmaxx... i think... "that's pretty cool looking... "[8D]
but I wonder if they actually do the job? Do they mount well enough to protect the chassis area/engine from the abuse we put these trucks through?
Does anyone have a rollcage for your tmaxx or MT?
Or do they just add more weight to the vehicle? [&:]are they really worth it?
What are your thoughts on these?

Well I don't have a full roll cage, but I do have a new era 3-point roll bar. The reason I went with the 3-point was ease of maintanence. I can repair 90% of the truck without removing it. It is definately durable, protects the engine and air filter in no-body crashes, adds much needed support to the body in roll overs, and serves as a handle for pull starts. It's cheaper and looks lighter than a full cage, and it's very strong.
The full cages look like overkill to me, the 3-point offers all the protection I need plus some. Also, if you have to work on the engine, tranny, spur, fuel tank, or even servos and such, the cage will get in the way and have to be removed.

i have a full cage made out of 3/16 mig welded. it is very tuff i weigh 170 bls and can stand on top of it. i use zip tie to mount it to the bumper brackets. works good only drawback is it adds some weight to the truck no big deal if you dont race it. my 2cents
