Default TRACK APPROVAL!!!!

OK....I got approved to build an r/c track from my governing board (I work for a County Recreation Department in Virginia). The land I have to work with for just the track (I have marked off a spot for the track.....I have extra space for border/driver stand/ect....) is 130' X 110'. I want it for 1/10 and 1/8 scale. We were supposed to build tennis courts there years ago but never did so I put in for an R/C track and got it!!!!

My idea is to have an oval w/ an offroad interior. It will be a packed clay track. If anybody has pictures of a track they like or just a good idea for a track layout please post your pic/drawing. I am eager to get this underway and have it running by summer. I am going to get ROAR certified and hopefully get R/C rolling in Central VA and get some events here!!

It will be located at a recreation center w/ restrooms, electric, water.....a very nice facility!!! I will post pics of the site tomorrow. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE!!!!

well if you plan all that you will probably be changing the layout once a month or so . just go with something fun for the 1st one , not to hard till you get some seasoned drivers around ya. Berms are a huge plus.

No particular reason for the empty space, I figured that I would test out the center track like that to see how well it worked, then modify from there.. needed some room for a couple of corner martials too

Here are the pics of the design I worked on. It can be used as an oval only, off-road only or a combination of the two depending on what and who are running. The straits are 100' centerline and the short shoots are 74' centerline.

Center Driveline for the: dirt oval is 348'
off-road only is 282'
combination is 528'

the jumps and shelf for the off-road section are not drawn on there.

The land was there and was not being used. I am in charge of sports/and recreational activities for the county. They thought it was a good idea.

It is in my budget for rec supplies

and whos gonna help you build it
maintenance dept...they have the equipment and resources

You have to remember...this is not MY track...it is for the county recreation department

Hey Smoking,
What ya running? How long do you think it will take to get the track up and running? Some friends and I have a small track off of Amelon Rd. , on that side of the river. We try to get together and run on the week-ends. If you need any help with things, Drop a line.

Hey. It was good meeting with you and Mike yesterday. I got my MT2 put back together last night so it is ready to go. Was anybody going to run on your track this weekend? I know Mike will not be there. I would like to take a few laps w/ my vehicles.

Thanks

Hey Joe,

It was nice meeting you as well. Mike goes under the knife next week, so he might be ok to get it this week-end. I'll check and see and let you know.Usually (weather permiting) , we run on Sunday, but that is open to change.
He called me looking for a diff case for his buggy, I have one in stock ( LOL) , so he will be up and running by this week-end.
Soon as I talk with him, I'll let you know about this week-end. Later dude.
