Super rich! Lean it out just a tiny bit and try it again. If it is too rich you can't keep it running long enough to break it in! There should be lots of smoke and even fule coming out of the exhuast during break-in. Good luck and take you time!

The high speed needle (HSN) controls the total amount of fuel to the carb, so by leaning the HSN, you are also reducing the fuel flow through the LSN (low speed needle).
Just lean your HSN by about a 1/8 turn, that should be enough to keep it running. If not, go another 1/8 turn etc. Just make sure you keep it rich enough for proper break-in.

Low speed needle controls fuel flow when idling.High speed needle controls fuel flow as you open up the throttle.I have that engine in my x terminator. If that is whats happening adjust the low speed needle 1/8 turn .hope this helps. Mike

Default concering radio

hi i was using my mammoth today....((thanx guys...leaning out the highspeed vavle fixed it....)) but something else started happening...

the "connection" between my radio and reciever started to stop. I would have to shut off the reciever and then turn it on again and then it would work for about a minute then turn it off again ect.

but then the last whole tank i ran through it, it really did not do it anymore with the body off....but it did it with the body on it... has this ever happened to u??? should i be worried???

thanx guys!!! the think is really sick!

Default RE: concering radio

It may be radio interference or bad batteries. Get a failsafe for your beast and a throttle return spring. these items are a must for some what worry free bashing.[8D]

I would check the simplest things first like the connections and change the batteries. I have had the same thing happen and it was bad batteries.

Yes it would have a new antena wire on it! But I would have someone that knows what to look for look at it before you start spending money that you may not need to spend. Have the LHS take a look at it first.

ive been thinking...could it just have been the vibration of the engine shaking and loosing the wires and loosing the connection????

Sure it could. I have had one run of on me because the battery wire had a cut on it and it grounded out on the chassis. Check all of the connetions and make sure there all good.

4 Tanks is all you have put in it so far?? If this is true then take your time. Don't push the break-in. An engine that is broke in right will last allot longer and run better then one that was pushed through the process![8D] I know it's hard to wait but it's worth it! I put 10-12 tanks through mine before I start pushing them and I still run them on the rich side as the engine last for what seems like forever!
