Default 2WD or 4WD?

I am thinking of getting a monster truck. What are the adv and disadvandages of 2WD or 4WD. I am thinking of getting a T-Maxx or a Sportmaxx. Can you change to T-Maxx from 2WD to 4WD fairly easily. Thank-you.

yes the sportmaxx will go from 2wd to 4wd with the purchase of the 4wd module from traxxas that includes everything you will need to convert it over. I did it and it wasn't too hard. It's about $40-$50. Definately get better traction with 4wd.

2wd is for fun and it cant go in snow (it can but your gonna go like 7 mph). ive driven my savage 2wd in the snow and it was no fun. i like 4wd. it has alot more accel since all 4 wheels are spinning and it is good in all terrains. you can make a t-maxx 2wd i think. for my savage, all i do is take out the front dogbones and its 2wd. its pretty easy to take out the dogbones on my truck, i dont know about the t-maxx but its suppose to be easier to work on than my truck.

ya i was thinking of having 2WD for the winter and trying to put skis on it. I have seen some pics of people doing it. How deep can the truck go with just 4WD and wheels in the snow.

i think you can get through snow up to wear it touchs the frame. my truck i have gotten through 5 inches and i could go through more. its just down here you rarely get even 5 inches of snow. up north you get alot more.

go 4wd.you cant control the damn thing in 2wd because your front wheels are always in the air.although 2wd is better for doing donuts.either way get a sport maxx becasue they're way cheaper and lighter and for $40 you can make it 4wd and still be considerably lighter than t-maxx.the only disadvantage is you wont have reverse.i bought a t-maxx but i wish i got the s-maxx and just bought the 4wd kit,i would ofsaved a lot of money
