Default balloon covered shock??

ya know those long skinny balloons that people use to make animals?? well could i use those to cover the shocks so no dirt and sand get in them??? would the balloons work? would they hurt anything??? thanx...,just thought it was an idea..

they would do the job, but wouldn't last long, as you can imagine the rubber would tear quite easily, which is why the real thing is made of lycra.

they make covers for shocks you see there add allover RCu

I used balloon on my shocks last fall, it worked great for a while, but by the end of the winter a couple of the balloons we're ripped.
