what is the best 1/8 scale (or possibly 1/10 scale) truck for under $275? my friend is looking into the hobby and he wants to get a big and fast nitro truck for a reasonable price. he DOES NOT want the savage or the t-maxx or the associated gt. what is the best buy for the buck for a truck under 275???

or under 300......i know the thunder quake is 300 but it is discontinued so he doesnt want it because it will be hard to find replacement parts.

yea i was thinking about that......but the sellers dont always explain all of the problems if there are any with the truck......i will have to check it out.

The cen mt2, duratrax maximum mt, duratrax nitro quake are all under 300$

they just discontinued it pretty recently. i called tower hobbies and they said that duratrax discontinued the truck. and i also have heard that duratrax is coming out with a new truck.

lax, the Cen Fun Factor MT2 is a good deal for under 300. Its capable of 45+ out of the box. Its easy to work on and very durable. If you want more info on it go to www.cenracing.com, do a search on my posts, or let me know.

The best truck would be Savage and LST. He needs to get one that parts are available and not to have the truck in the box for months to waiting for orders.

I have one Savage SS RTR and I will let go for 275. I have this truck for only 5 months and all the gears are ready for .26 or .28. I am selling because I am getting ready to get the FG MT and MB.

My RS4 3 SS is for sale too RTR. 2 engine and extra parts will go together with it. Only 225 shipped (US only).

i agree with mecky33 completely, the cen mt2 is a great, fast, and durable truck, i got mine for $260. a great backyard basher or full-on racer. up to 45 mph out-of-the-box, fantastic truck, soon hoping to do a .18 or a .21 conversion.

Well this is a little more than $300 but its a kit so you still need to get a radio, servos, and reciever on top of getting your batterys, charger, and fuel. I dont know if your friend is willing to get a stadium truck but I heard alot of good things about the rtr version of this truck. I found this deal on ebay, it ends in 2 days it might be too soon for decisions but heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW replace the **** with ebay. com , and since I left you hanging long enough the ST is by HPI and the name is Nitro MT2 18SS.

Actually Tower Hobbies has replacement parts for the Thunder Quake but they don't make the truck anymore.

ya well 1st of all i dont think there are many MT's under 300 bucks but not only that, keep in mind all the other stuff you'll need.

*gas bottle
*servo batteries
*controller batteries....etc.
