savage 25 vs Cen MT2
I have come to the conclusion that I want to buy a monster truck, but im having trouble figuring out which is the best buy... im new to nitro rc's so dont flame to hard. [:@]
Anyways im looking at the Cen MT2 or the HPI savage 25 truck. From what I read the Savage 25 is most durable but is tuff to work on and parts cost alot (on top of 400 bucks). The Cen MT2 is priced at a friendly 279.00 shipped and from what I hear it holds up just as well or !QUOT!almost!QUOT! as well as the savage. Parts are cheaper to replace too.
Is this true, which truck is the better buy? Should I spend the extra 120 or so bucks on the savage or 279 on mt2 and save some cash for parts etc?
(also wanna buy a mini T, I played with one at local hobby shop and love it.) *sorry got off track for a min.
Anyways thanx for the help.

the real difference bewteen the 2 are one is 1/10 and other is 1/8 scale
After most search and reviews , both are good . do you want a 1/10 scale or 1/8th scale thats where the money difference comes into play .

RE: savage 25 vs Cen MT2
Really its up to you. I have an MT2 and it is pretty durable. The only things I have ever broken save one diff cup have been my own fault. The one diff cup I broke was due to excess engine HP and a wierd landing after getting it up on two wheels. So I guess that one was half my fault. Personally, I would start with the MT2 and save toward the Savage down the road. Part of that is because of the initial cost of the truck. Then you will need a nitro starter set, fuel, extra glow plugs, spare parts, and so on. So for the cost of just the HPI truck you can get the MT2 plus everything I listed for about the same price. Also, the Cen can be changed in to a stadium truck, rally car, and buggy. So if you get bored with one, you can buy the parts to switch it to another. Really though, the choice is all yours. Just make sure that you are happy with what you choose. If you have any questions about the MT2 feel free to ask me.

mecky, let me get this right, in the end just to get the mt2 up and running I will need to spend the extra hundred on it? So they will end up being the same cost or close to it?

No, either way, you will have to spend an extra hundred bucks. You will need a nitro starter set and you will need spare parts. The Cen parts are cheaper, so you will be able to keep more on hand. For example, a piston and sleeve for the Cen is 20 bucks, the piston and sleave for a nitro star .25 is 70 or more. So if you happen to overheat your truck when you first get it, you will be out more with a savage. The choice is ultimately yours though. Do you want smaller and faster or larger and a little more durable. Both trucks will break, it will end up being a matter of how much it will cost to fix it.

okay I only have a couple more little questions, b4 I buy, One how would the two hold up on off road, the savage being larger I would think could out performer the mt2 but bigger isn't always better. Also, do you know if one would control easier than the other, I guess how user friendly/ forgiving are the two trucks?
Thanx

I am not really sure on the savage since I have not seen one run. But the MT2 is very easy to handle off road. At high speeds you have to remember to turn lightly or it will roll because its very responsive. I do nothing but off road with my MT2 just because its more fun. I have put the smaller ATX tires on it and a faster clutch bell and run on road. It was very fun being able to spin the tires a bit on pavement and go hauling around at 50 MPH or so. Over all I would think that they would handle about the same given the size differences and weight differences. The one exception being that the Savage has a lower top speed so it may be a little easier to control at full throttle.

Get the madforce!!!
is very very very durable!!!
after a lot of impressing crashes is still perfect!!!
3 speeds
tranny transmission
massive tyres
and solid axels(no more diff cups broken!!!
This is my opinion i got an mt2 but since i bought the madarmour my little CEN went into the box!!!!

RE: savage 25 vs Cen MT2
yeah its a really tuff decision to make I keep going back and forth, I have the cash for either of them because im using part of my tax return on them, I guess I need to keep reading reviews people seem to love them both. Im not extremely ruff on cars but my younger brother - in - law is lol.
Also my wife wants a mini 1/18th buggy or truck does anyone know which is a better buy, mini T or TLT-1? sorry thats off topic, I know I just thought I would ask.
thankx

My vote goes to the savage SS, or the 25RTR.
Because i think the right decision is clear...
If you need options you could look at this...

Savage owns j00r bones...
Ya, I am REALLY excited to get my Mad Force soon, and they are coming out with an RTR for the Mad Force. It is around $350 I believe. I am hoping the Mad Force picks up steam. It really is an awesome 1/8 scale that has been overlooked due to price. I think that may change soon.
- It is the ONLY MT on the market with a 3 speed transmission
- It has live axles- no independent stuff here
- It's innovative and different
- a 3 speed!!! Did I mention that? That means AWESOME low end and a very high top speed.
- 3 speed.
Look into the Mad Force, just for the heck of it. However, the Savage would have my vote vs. MT2.

RE: savage 25 vs Cen MT2
I have a Cen Mt2 and really like it. It is fast, durable and easy to work on. I have seen some Savages run and the MT2 is quite faster but............the Savage is alot bigger so it looks meaner. [:@]
Just depends on what size you want really. They are both great trucks.
I am interested in that Mad Force!! I have honestly not heard one bad remark about that truck. Everybody that owns one really seems to love them.
