Default Monster Truck Rating formula. Who wins???

Well, this is for fun. Since I collected all of the information on the MT's in the guide above, I stacked the results and created a formula to rate the Monster Trucks based on an inverse of the calculated length/width/engine size/speed/weight and cost. I wont disclose the formula since it is proprietary

Here are the ratings (from highest rating to lowest). Maybe I under estimated the Fun Factor 2! -

CEN MT2 - 1.601
TMaxx 2.5 - 1.54
Ofna Titan - 1.53
Savage S25 - 1.51
Mad Force - 1.50
Monster GT - 1.49
Mammoth (XTM) - 1.46

The math isn't perfected yet. The Mammoth's HIGH speed and lower cost is why it is so low! It offset the formula. No offense guys. The CEN is the highest because it is fast and the cost is low. I will make a better formula to calculate fairly based on the factors above in the future.

no offence taken, you should work on ur math... so what are u saying? the cen is fast in long run after 50 ft in accleration or out of the hole? i dont believe its all of em' so dont wast ur energy. good for you buying a cheaply priced truck that goes......i was always a firm believer in u get what u pay for though.

top speed only (on MFG website) or RCCA. I didn't account acceleration.

Listen, anyone can tell you, I am not a devout CEN fan (yet) I don't own one or plan to buy one... That's just the numbers there. No opinion.

good luck. so do you believe that ur numbers make sence? that that is the true rating besides cost and speed wich speed is only a cluthbell away on anything you buy. what about durablity or reliability?

its almost impossible to put in durability. any truck can break. my savage has broken before. and its suppose to be the most durable.

i think you shouls all take notice of the first 5 words of his post, no point getting all stroppy if your trucks not winning, mines last but one!!

why not everyone come up with a formula? or maybe we could make a "Top Trumps" set? did you have those cards in the States?

As my calculus prof was overly fond of saying - show your work.

What was the formula used? What data?

Default RE: Monster Truck Rating formula. Who wins???

I've used a different formula which takes into account what I own, cost and what I do not own. Here are the results:

CEN MT2 - 0
TMaxx 2.5 - 0
Ofna Titan - 0
Savage S25 - 0
Mad Force - 0
Monster GT - 1
Mammoth (XTM) - 0
TNX - 0
TerraCrusher - 0
Twin Titan - 0

So as you can see, my truck is not only better than more trucks on your list, but it is infinitely better as well.

This is definately for fun. Although I don't at all understand your system or even what you're trying to say here, you must be sitting back and enjoying the chaos you've started.

Ditto

It is disconcerting that some people get so emotional or opinionated about RC cars, it's not like were discussing religion or politics. Most of us are grown ups playing with toy cars, everybody needs to relax. Sometimes when I read these threads I am shocked at the arguments, who cares whose truck is "better" or who knows what and has been doing whatever for 10 years. Toy cars (expensive though), Fun. PERIOD

well i think its a good idea and hes on the right track. most people do care whos is better, sad but true. im thinking more extensivly it falls into statistics though. it does cause caos and conflict but on the other end it is a quick reference for beginners to look at. anybody asks the million dollar sick of hearing question; what is the best monster truck?.....then send them there. plus if you seach it you hit that thread. i do however support proving the references and formulas on wich the ratings are done in order for it to be completely honest. like the man said if you can prove it other wise show me in quote or proven solid evidence. have fun

I think he can post what ever he wants, I am just amazed that people get so snotty about defending their opinions on these matters. This thread really isn't a good example of how ridiculous some of the arguments get.

Cheers

ive never cared about "best" or "newest" or who's name is on the label, as long as i think ive got value for money, and im having fun, who cares? I think it takes a while for that sort of attitude to develop though, "keeping up with (overtaking, stomping on and looking back laughing as you dissapear into the sunset) the Joneses" is way to important when your young. The consumer generation is all!! lol

Thats not to say i dont agree with the original post, i saw it as harmless fun and enjoyed readibng it.

(its wrong though, i bet you didnt include "number of flag poles fitted" as part of your formula?)

Yes, it is not as fast as some other monster trucks. But as the major race win proves, top speed means little to nothing on an off road track.

Default RE: Monster Truck Rating formula. Who wins???

Here is my formula...

MT Rating =1/(((a/b)*c)+AVERAGE(l:w))*10+x/x

where

a=speed
b=weight
c=engine displacement
l=length
w=width
x=cost

There you have it. The solution for world hunger.
