Default Best BIG Block engine??

I have had good luck with all but one of my engines and even that ones still runs. I have 4 TRX .15, 2 Ofna Force .25, 2 Duratrax Torq .21, 1 Torq .16, 1 Velocity .15 and 1 O.S Hyper .15. So as you can see I have been pretty lucky. I am going to spend some big money here soon (I am getting myself a SuperMaxx setup) and I would like to put a good solid engine on it. Something that is not too much money as most of my cash is going into the kit. I would like to have great low end and good top. The Ofna engines I have are not bad at either top end or low end but, I am looking to try something different. Any advice would be great.[8D]

Well the sirio engines and Team orion wasp's are great! But the price is $$$$$$$. If your looking for a reliable high perfroming engine look into the xtm 24.7. 2.6 horspower. Its only about 129.99$ right now at www.hobbypeople.net Its a gret engone. There is also a conversion kit for the tmaxx to put that engine in it!

Yes, they do have a good rep but the price is a bit on the high side! I don't want to spend more then $200-$225 and less is better!LOL

Fantom .21, or a Fantom .27. They are well known for their small blocks, and the big blocks will be available within few weeks. Stormer has them listed at 199. If the big block fantoms are as good as the small block motors, they will be the motor of choice for big trucks.

XTM 24.7 pro is a little better than the 24.7. It has more rpm's and 2.75 hp

The XTM sounds like it is just what I am looking for! I have not read anything bad about the 24.7 except the pull start which is no big deal. I think everybody was replacing it with the Ofna pullstarter and I have a few of those lying around.

XTM's have very reliable engines! Are you getting the pro or regular?

I will be getting the Pro version! I would love to afford the Trinity .27 but, $350 is way to much! I am a basher anyway and I don't even know anyone that has any Nitro R/C's other then my brother. I was looking for what the XTM has for my all new Supermaxx. You would think if I am going to spend $1500 on the kit I would be willing to spend more on an engine but, not me!LOL

You can replace the XTM Pullstart with the Rotostart kit used on the Savage engines. The same Roto start will work on the XTM Motors. I know of a lot of people who have removed the pull start and gone with the rotostart. It works well. I use one on my Mammoth that has the stock 24/7 in it and I use the Roto Start on my Savage with the Picco .26 in it. I have found that the BB Rotostart kit used on the Savage will fit many different types of engines and it works great. [8D]

No, it comes like that and far from weak! They tested it to stand up to a "simulated" 2500lb impact. That sounds a bit crazy to me but, UE (Unlimited Enginering) AKA SuperMaxx is known to have the best of the best in the R/C world!

This info comes from there web site but, I have seen on this forum how tough they after being run over by a Min-van. Don't get me wrong there was damage but not as much as you would think.
If I can find the thread I will post it.

With the price that they ( Unlimited Engineering ) charge for their suspension kits , they had better be good. They have a good rep for providing quality products, but they had better be for the price.

Credit where it's due, you can't find a better basher than a full on UE rig, built like a tank and can take most anything you can throw at it, or is that throw it at? Either way, it's too heavy to be much use as a serious racer. There are folks that have built JT Maxx conversions and used the Racer X suspension setup with great success, but it's not a simple bolt on and is a very high $$ way to go for MT racing.

MXracer, yes, its the best out there, I have used their products for years,

FHM, to heavy? Keep telling yourself that lol. A Full SM big block truck ready to run weighs just over 10 lbs complete with a rody modded RB Concepts C5. The racer X suspension provides better geometry than anything out there for a true MT and the C5 will over power any motor you can come up with and revs to the moon. It is a VERY capable racer for a true MT class, the truggies from the umlimited class do outrun them though but by definition don't fall into the MT class.

For the money I will second that emotion. The picco will run neck and neck with alot of high dollar engines. I race against a S7 2 all the time and I hold my own thats for sure.
