Default Savage 25 and SS whats the difference ?

Hi

I've decide to get a Savage truck but now I don't know what model to get, I was keen on the RTR package but now I see you can get the SS package. Besides it being a kit and no radio what are the other differences with the kit, has it got better parts ? O BTW I'm also looking at getting the Sirio .27 racer to replace the stock motor.

Thank you

The only differences are, SS is a kit, it comes with no radio and It has a different pipe. I would buy the savage 25 if you don't want to be building for a while.

Argh!!! You are a little mis-informed. The SS has the Heavy Duty bones, the adjustable upper suspension arms, the tuned pipe, the spring pipe mount, and a pull starter.

The 25 RTR has the roto start, the new primerless fuel tank, 3 shoe clutch, and the updated wheel hexes.

If you simply visit HPI's website, you can review the comparison chart and see the differences for yourself.

In general the kits usually have better parts, but cost more because you usually need the electronics.

The pipe on the 25rtr is just a black plastic pipe, held on by a plastic mount. The SS has a spring type mount, and a ribbed tuned pipe. Yes, the upper arms are made by HPI, and i think are 15 bucks for all of them. That pipe and mount is a 35 dollar option. The HD bones on the SS are 14 bucks a pair. The 25 RTR has the updated wheel hexes, 8 dollars, 3 shoe flywheel 8 dollars, and a new fuel tank 12 dollars. Then there is the roto start on the 25 RTR. If you are just starting out, you might like the 25 RTR better. If you have the money for a radio, and like to put things together, then the SS is the way to go. You will learn alot during assembly. I'll be putting together another savage SS real soon.
