Default Glow Plug Question

I tried starting my truck today and no luck. So I removed the glow plug and the end of the plug was black. The plug was also dead. Does anyone know what this means? Too Lean? Thanks.

Default RE: Glow Plug Question

If the end of your plug is black, like a burnt black, then its probably a little lean. However, it may not be anything at all. Plugs need to be replaced every so often. How are the temps? How long did that plug last?

Default RE: Glow Plug Question

It's a brand new plug and motor. I ran it twice during the break in period. It's a Fantom FR18 motor. Temperature range for this motor is 260-360 and mine was running at 310. I'm breaking the motor in at the stock needle settings.

Thanks for your input.
