RE: ??? twin motor conversion
Nearly all twin engine projects have the engines rotating the same direction.
I seriously dought a reversed crank (valve timing) for a car engine is even available.
When putting 2 engines together, many simply place the spur gear between the clutch's,
this allows the engines to rotate in the same direction.

Motion machine is correct, when one is rotating clockwise on the right, the contact side is pushing the spur down, the one rotating clockwise on the left has the contact side pushing the spur gear up for the complete rotation. Simple mechanics at its finest. Nothing needed to swap rotation.

see how it turns? Don't think about it too hard, it makes simple things seem more complex.
